I'm at the game tonight in Verizon center. Excited to see our boys live, even though we've tanked lately. So far just two other Canes jerseys. If we played ourselves our, at least we can be a spoiler and take the Caps down with us. Go Canes!

PK is very passive and soft. Fortuately, the Caps D is non-existent so far.

1-0 after 1. We had a number of opportunities and could have easily been up 3-0. Caps look like they were asleep at the wheel. We'll see if they come out en fuego in the 2nd, or if they just suck.

After a strong 1st playing mostly on the offensive and having several good scoring opportunities, caps have almost equalled up the shots half way through the second. This period has been played almost exclusively in the defensive zone due to much more energetic play by the caps, and some really pooty passing by us.

much more energy in the second half of period 2. Too bad we gave up a couple of crappy goals and are behind the 8 ball yet again.

to start the 3rd, the caps definitely have to energy again. they are getting to every loose puck, and the canes are reaching, trying to keep up...much like the way our DBs play pass defense.

played better again in the second half of the period, but also still getting out worked by Was. If you're not as good, you should at least play harder and scrap like a mother until you turn that ship around.

1 goal on 44 shots. Caps goalie was outstanding.

    • Of course, he's so massive he has his own gravitational pull.
    • You miss the point. Taylor was here before. We picked him because of what he could do for our wide receivers not because he had some great knowledge no other person had on the staff. Shula and Rivera and Gettleman studied multiple college systems for months before signing Taylor or drafting McCaffrey or Curtis and would have drafted the same whether Taylor was here or not. They liked the way Taylor developed McCaffrey which showed his talent but Stanford's offense wasn't Taylors idea or unique to him. Shula has a connection to Taylor as early as when Shula was at Alabama.  The debate was whether Taylor was chosen to replace Shula because Shula didn't know what to do to run a college offense and if he screwed up Taylor would replace him. And that Taylor was the reason and most influential in getting McCaffrey. I said it wasn't even close to the truth and this plan predated Taylor and was more thorough and we'll thought out. Everything since then just confirms I was right once again like usual.
