During the winter there isn't much better than a fresh, homemade chicken tortellini.

What is it you like best about soup?

The hot water or the mushy vegetables?

Wife is a big French Onion soup fan, but I have never liked it.

But, I am a HUGE soup fan....would eat it at almost every lunch/dinner if I could.

My favorites:
Clam Chowder (the really good stuff in Boston)
She Crab Soup
Seafood Gumbo
Brocolli and Cheese

There was a guy on the old huddle (lives in Texas, can't remember name..starts with D) anyway, he gave me a recipe for homemade tortilla soup. I've made it once and it was incredible. So. Homemade chicken tortilla soup.
