A GM presser before the draft... I'll be sure to ignore every single thing he says... It's all a smokescreen.

Said the DT group is deep, I don't expect the Panthers to pick up a DT until the fourth round.

He also said the DB group is deep and the OL group is deep. Apparently we won't take anyone until the fourth round.

I like like listening to him. He actually sounds exited to be talking football and being GM.

Star or Lane. Star has a much "better" chance of falling than Lane. Both pipe dreams tho.

Agree 100%, he seems like he is having fun, as where you can tell with a lot of guys that they are being forced to do it.

Called the DT, DB, and OL group very very deep.

Implies interesting things when you stack it against our reported interests.

Possibly a wide receiver and a tight end in the first two picks...

Austin and Escobar???

Interesting that he think's Drayton Florence can start. I wonder how that would go...

Gettleman seems very confident in his drafting ability, I like it.

Just finished watching, Gettleman emphasized how deep this draft is at the DT position... he repeated several times "it's VERY deep" which makes me think we are less inclined to take a DT at 14, just my 2 cents.

No clues who we are picking at 14 but it'll definitely be the BPA on their board. If we trade down, it won't be to the late 1st. No trade up either.

Even more confident we will pick a DT in either the 2nd/4th.

He was asked to list the positions with the most depth in this draft and he ranked them as follows:

1. DT
2. DB
3. OL

So take that for what it's worth in regards to our plans for the 14th pick.

10 years college scout, 15 years pro will give you that.

CB battle should be fun in training camp/pre season.

He also praised Don Gregory and the scouting staff, said Hurney assembled a really good staff here and said he wasn't kidding when he said he had hit the lottery getting this job. Use the example of our late round picks as evidence of how good our scouting staff is.

Said we used 28 of the 30 slots for visits, saved 2 for any last minute visits as a result of late breaking medical or other information. He said the visits were distributed among the prospects they are looking at in each round.

I really like him, he is very intelligent, his accent is awesome, and he seems like a very personal guy.

I look forward to meeting him at TC this year.
