McBob Would "Love" To Return, If Price Is Right

Josh McRoberts said he'd "love" to return to the Bobcats as an unrestricted free agent, but he "made it clear money is biggest factor" in his free agency.

Shocker. McBob was surprisingly productive during his stint with the Bobcats, averaging 9.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 0.6 blocks on 50.5 percent shooting over 26 games. Mike Dunlap has previously endorsed McRoberts publicly, but the team shouldn't overextend itself to retain him.

I'd give him $3.5 million on a two year deal, seems fair to me... take it or leave it.

IDK why but I've got this feeling that he's going to get a 3-4 million a year deal from someone that think's he would be the perfect fit for them as a 5th starter.

I get that same feeling, in my opinion he is young enough and proved enough to me to get a two year deal around the 3.5 million area, but nothing more than that. I could also see a team like Miami enticing him with a championship.

I think if we can get him back at a good price, like mentioned in the $3-4 million at most, then I think McBob would be a decent addition to the team. He's got enough ability to contribute and be a serviceable starter if we don't go for a big man in the draft like Noel (or Alex Len, etc).

The whole "price is right" thing may not work the BuzzCats...

The Bobcats made a February trade for power forward Josh McRoberts, who beat out Mullens for the starting job late in the season. McRoberts is an unrestricted freeagent, and said money – wherever that leads him – would be his priority in choosing a team.
