I actually like the fact that he's locked down with a wife and kids.

Watch this. Holy man in the backfield, Batman!

The own endzone series from 4:45-5:05 <estimated> is really impressive. He destroys double teams every play to get into the backfield.

Not lacking for effort, is he?

His first move is sometimes so fast it looks like he's jumped early. I haven't seen that in Carolina since Kris Jenkins.

the only thing stopping him from becoming a bad ass pass rusher is himself

From the PFW draft profile:

Positives: Looks the part with desirable body thickness and length. Disruptive. Commands a double team. Naturally brute strong. Explosive body power. Rag-dolls centers and drives them into the backfield. Violent hands — shoots his hands and jolts blockers. Terrific extension to lock out and control. Extremely athletic dancing bear. Outstanding ease of movement for his size. Is agile and flows well laterally. Physical tackler — rips down ballcarriers. Has impact upside.

That is the funniest analysis I've ever read.

Yeah. Caught that

"Violent hands" is a nice description.

Boy, if his Panther teammates get hold of "dancing bear"...

- Almost quit football twice; once right after high school and also in his second year of junior college

- Said he "lost his desire" after grade issues kept him out of football, but got it back after a short time

Should this concern me?

Use your own judgment there. But for my part, it doesn't concern me.

Way I see it, he got frustrated and gave up, but after a little while away the itch kept eating at him and he came back to the game. These days, he's fully committed and he has a family to provide for.

Reads kinda like a guy failing to kick an addiction.

Still can't believe we landed this guy. Its funny caz if the Jets didn't have poo for brains he would (and SHOULD) have gone to them. He's simply better than richardson in every way (who I actually thought was worth a late second). The only other guy you can make a case for is Floyd but Star is such a better fit for us with getting Dwan resigned.

The thing I love most about him is his lateral speed. What we did with Greg Hardy last year was only the beginning, our defensive front is going to have so many looks it'll make Peyton Manning's head spin.
