I believe I'd rather have Alexander with a year's experience than anyone in the 3rd this year. Sometimes it's good to pay tomorrow for a hamburger today.

Makes me wonder if we had a bit of a rep.

"Call the Panthers. They'll trade anything" :(

I just saw the press conference with him saying it and was about to make a new thread. It was the most beautiful quote a Panthers fan could ever hear.

"I had a team call me up this year. They wanted to know if I wanted their second round pick for next year's first. I didn't speak to him, I would've told the guy 'you have brain damage.' It's not happening."

hahaha I LOVE that Gettle's response to trading future picks is "you must have brain damage."

Not saying he should have done it. He should have!!!! But if I where him I would be careful how he talks to these other GMs, it maybe hard later on when he wants a trading partner.

WE DON'T NEED NO TRADING PARTNER, WE GOT THE GETTLEMAN!!!

No seriously, we don't need a trade partner, ever again.

The journey has begun.

Marty would talk about how he loved "action". The problem is that "action" was crippling our franchise in future years.

Gettleman doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that would knowingly insult a predecessor, so I'm gonna guess he isn't aware of our prior Draft Day transactions. Honestly, no reason why he should know.

But for those of us who do know, ouch :(

It's going to he nice to have a pick in each round next year. Depending on how the year goes, G-man might do some trading down / stockpiling picks next year.

Doubt we trade down, but would be nice to not go into drafts having to account for missing picks.

You know I just realized today that the last first round pick we took before Newton in 2011 was Otah.

Let that sink in.
