The fact that he put up ridiculous numbers at Oregon and the coach who knows him best in Chip Kelly hadn't snatched him up by now tells me what I need to know about his NFL prospects.

I'm actually all for this pick if DeAngelo is gone.

Morris lit it up last season from the 6th and Barner is a stud RB imo. 2 Ducks and a Bowling Ball

I'm not complaining but it's hilarious we took an ILB and RB over S, WR, CB, TE and OT.

This.

Barner racked up 1,767 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns as a senior for the Ducks.

Great pick. This just makes me curious about the future of our other running backs/special team return men. I just do not see any chance that we walk into the regular season with DeAngelo, Stewart, Tolbert, and Barner, unless some serious changes occur with how we use our stable of running backs.

I would have liked to see a receiver or defensive back drafted, but the BPA methodology along with the G-Men philosophy of a stong front 7 makes your back 4 good can't be argued against too much.

Here's to a great 2013 season for the Panthers!

Maybe this is why it's taken forever for Gettleman to get a GM job.
