He retired so I'm guessing he wouldn't be interested.

gamble is done with football. he turned down offers from interested teams after the panthers let him go.

his agent said he put himself in a position to retire comfortably and retiring is what he decided to do.

it wouldn't be until after training camp if he did. i wouldn't hate it, but his retiring so quickly confirms what i think some have been thinking for a while...he just doesn't want it anymore. his head just isn't completely in the game. getting released was probably a relief.

I'd take him over anybody on that roster. And it ain't even close.

Not only turned down teams to play but not playing a 10th year to get his NFL pension...he is checked out of football and not sure how much passion he ever had for the game.

Gamble was good but never got past a certain point that prevented hm to become elite(despite what pass stat/metrics during the 2010 season state)

Or maybe he just didn't want to pack up and move his family. People tend to forget those things and instead say a player doesn't want it anymore. He was only going to play 3 more years anyway why move your family?

if his head was back in the game, sure. but the way he's been playing the last couple years he just hasn't been all that much of a factor and the way he was playing last year i feel safe in saying he wouldn't really be an upgrade over the guys we'll probably be starting.

without his head in the game, he's really just a guy.

    • i just took this test again for shits and i got infj, whereas last year i got intj. so my thinking got flipped to feeling but it's still fairly close. other than that, i'm still an introvert but it went down from last year from 72% to 59%. i'm not really surprised because i got a job in nyc in the last year that has forced me to adapt to social interaction. other than that there were no massive changes though.
    • Jesus. A 3-4 OLB at #8? Two major off-field character concerns in the 2nd round? Another slow WR in the 3rd? Never. Gonna. Happen. There's at least a decent chance that his top three picks won't even be on our draft board. Gettleman has said numerous times in the past that guys who aren't scheme fits for us aren't on our draft board. There goes McKinley. Given our past with guys like Carruth and Hardy, there's zero chance that Mixon is on our board. Given Robinson's off-field issues involving a stolen gun, I'd say there's a better than average chance that he's not on our board either. You'd be hard pressed to come up with a more unrealistic mock draft for the Panthers if you set out to try to do just that.
