Rivera wants to limit star to 30 snaps a game.

Not bad reading comprehension. It's more you not giving a definite statement.

I know what you wanted to say at first was he struggled bc he was fat. Don't lie.

False.

Star has a much bigger hill to climb adapting to the pro's as well as 3 more games a year to be concerned with comparing what Dwan Edwards has been doing as an 8 year pro...

good points as always.

If you have 120 snaps at DT between the two spots, 30 to Star, 30 to Dwan, 30 to Short, 15 to the 4th guy and 15 of ends playing inside, you're really splitting it fairly evenly. And 80+% is to a starting level player. Compare that to having one good player in Dwan at 50/game, meaning more than half went to a substandard player* or a player out of position.

*Ron Edwards isn't that good, no.

Thanks Mags. Likewise.

you guys are just confused, Rivera is saying that the defense will only be on the field for 30 plays a game.

I'd imagine this would be a welcome change from the 91% of defensive snaps he played last year at Utah.  Plus it makes sense, he's a rookie DT who's conditioning won't be at peak level right now.  Keep 'em fresh for lasting use.

30 seems like such a small number.

I'm going to get a Lotulelei jersey..

Played the same position as me in high school.

1) When will it be available?

2) Yall think he'll switch away from 96?

I don't mind if he does.

Got a Kid-Gilchrist jersey (Bobcats). Proves its his rookie jersey.

Got a Cam Newton Reebok jersey. Proves its his rookie jersey..

I don't trust Rivera on much, but I do trust that he knows his defense.

If he says that Star should get a certain number of snaps...then chances are he is right.

Heard the Sirius interview with Chico and PK this PM......

- Star is expected to start with Dwan and assuming 60 plays/game share 30-40 snaps

- KK and Cole will play the other 20-30...no mention of Fua/Kearse

- Star played the zero technique at Utah and will be used in a 3 man front, but 4-3 will be base

- KK already uses his hands like a vet and flips his hips better than most vet 3 tech., which helps his backfield penetration.

- Kugbila will contribute this year, but did not say he would start right away.

- We had the Ala S and La CB rated high enough that it was like getting two more draft choices.

Considering all the packages, sub packages, schemes, and formations Rivera has up his sleeve. The set # of plays is no where near set in stone. Rivera will ;put the best 11 on the field, and there are just too many variables to give anything more than just an educated guess.

But man, ain't it fun speculating.

Also, on a side note. This is what I get when I hit the quote icon. Well, at least my enter bar works now.
