Seriously this is going to make the Saturday Night Special trend look like childs play.In a few years you will be seeing violent crime rise as these things are mass produced and sold on the street.

You can't undo technology, I'm just telling you that anyone who thinks this is a good idea is a stupid gun nut who thinks our greatest fear is Obama, not the guy who wants to rob you walking up to your apartment.

Violent crime wont rise due to this.

You may see certain parties realize removing guns from the general public will never happen and rather work towards permanent, reasonable laws that respect both victims and responsible gun owners.

Well this could indeed bring homicide levels and accidental gun deaths in the developed world to more American like levels. Then what will those pinkos have to brag about?

U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

There will probably be a federal law passed at some point that forces 3D printer manufacturers to disallow printing of firearm components or something like that at the firmware level.

then people who want to do this will just flash their gear with hacked firmware they got off the internet or buy a $40 mod kit off ebay.

no matter your opinion, this is a true political act. The gov says they want to take something and now they can't. So how does this change the perspective on gun control now, I wonder? For all the anti-gun folks out there, what do you say? Since it is common knowledge that this now exists, do you still feel the need to regulate citizens who follow the laws, so that they might defend themselves from this sort of burden? Do you still not see the need to defend yourself? Seriously, occupy, crips, bloods, kkk, and others could build armies in thier garages. So, eventually patriots will have to do the same, if we continue to push legislature that puts citizens at a disadvantage against these sort of threats.

Im going with this.

They already require copiers to recognize and misprint/refuse to print currency.  The solution will be a simple matter of programming commercial machines to do the same with parts that fit certain design specs.

Of course there will be ways around it but just like the wait period for handguns it will keep the "crimes of passion" to a minimum.

A Jared Loughner or Adam Lanza wont be stopped but we cant stop them today.
