We definitely should have taken lesser quality players at WR and DB, to fill 'our needs', so that those positions would have been 'our needs' again next year.

Everyone hates value drafting, until they see the results of Value Drafting.

the problem is that the draft is seen as the main way to address needs rather than the main way to pick up talented players.

needs in FA, best players available in the draft who fit what you do or want to do....esp. after the first couple rounds.

That certainly seems to be DG's concept.

His not addressing RG is very troubling tho.

One has to assume he has 3 plans in place for the next 12 months.

#1 WR

O-line upgrades/future @ RT, RG, LT

CB upgrades.

RG will be manned by the Draft pick this year ( assuming)

WR and CB seems to be an issue, that said, the Giants never really had shutdown guys and leaned on their pass rush. If this is the concept in DG's mind he is upgrading the CB's via pass rush.

agreed, tho i think kugbila will be solid...at least after the first half or whole season. main thing for the OL is that they stay healthy and start gelling earlier with each other and with cam. blocking scheme, cohesiveness,  and individual roles/responsibilities have to become second nature early.

i think you are on target about gettleman's approach to addressing the secondary. we got decent zone guys who can make it difficult for the QB to make a decision who to throw the ball to...just enough to buy time for the pass rush to get to the QB and get the sack or force the ball to the sidelines or into the ground...or force the INT.

The video was a little odd the first time around, but now it's just amusing as hell.  Had to be a Panthers fan that put that together.

It's really just more of the same---but more entertaining---contentious debate that was born out of draft. The answers will unveil themselves, and the crows will be flying, once we get into the season.

That was great! I think that pretty much sums it up. And the RR slam was perfect.
