With the new CBA, all the pay scales are pretty much set in stone, so there aren't any deals higher or lower than normal.

However, apparently Star's deal contains some offset language, and that was not the case with last year's 14th pick. I'm not sure of the offset specifics, but offsets usually relate to what happens if the team cuts a drafted player and that player then signs with another team. I know neither Cam nor Luke had offsets, so it appears Gettleman is taking a harder line, even with draft picks.

I don't wanna be a critical jerk, but it'd be nice to see this kind of 'breaking news' from our own beat writers first.

Not a reporter so I don't know what their job is like. Just sayin'...
