I could see a move to OG, but Tackle takes real talent thats a tough move on this level.

Why not let him lose some weight and try him at tight end too if OT doesn't work out?

I think T is often easier for lots of players based on their skill set.

Bruce Campbell, Byron Bell.....all suck worse at G than T.  G isn't easier.  T play is just deemed more important.

I'm all game if he is able to make the transition, I'm just happy he's open minded and willing to do what it takes to stay on the team.

For the love of God let us be lucky and have this guy be fuging legit at OT

That would be awesome hopefully gettlemans eye for talent increases those chances you don't see dlineman, even ones who arent good like fua, get a chance to play o line.

I think Seattle also did this recently with a guy. It's not unheard of, just a bit weird.

If I'm not mistaken, that's J.R. Sweezy who went to NCSU.

It could have been Chandler's idea. We just re-signed Dwan for 2 years and drafted KK.  What chance did Chandler have?  Either way, if it works out, what a find.

Raw, but so were first rounders Lane Johnson and Kyle long.

Arm length is good--33 3/4

it also takes awareness and athleticism...and experience. he's got all three of those from what i gather. i think the talent is there as well to be at least a solid rotational/backup guy.

i think suggesting the change is what got him to the defensive side of the ball in the first place. he saw a chance to be more of a contributor at another position and asked for a chance. not unreasonable to think it's the same story here.

He wants to be on the field--can't blame him for that.  I have a very good feeling about this--he seems to have the size, measurables, and the athleticism to play T.  Maybe....

It would be amazing to get a legitimate player out of this move, someone who likely wouldn't have made the roster anyways

Better opportunity for him. Gettleman is playing to individual strengths.

it falls into the category of "there's a chance he can pull it off...why not?"

What is he, 6'4" and 310ish? He'd be one of the smaller OTs in the league with the likes of Gross and Sam Baker.
