CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- Phillip Williamson is no longer enrolled at UNC, he told Inside Carolina on Monday morning. The redshirt freshman defensive lineman will attend Butler Community College (Kan.) for the 2013 season.

When asked if his plan was to return to UNC after his JuCo stint, Williamson replied: "If they offer again, yes."

A school official confirmed Williamson's decision to transfer on Monday afternoon.

Williamson committed to the Butch Davis coaching staff in May of 2011, maintaining his commitment through the two coaching changes that followed over the next seven months.

The Durham, N.C. native played linebacker during his redshirt freshman season in 2012, but after adding 40 pounds in the offseason, he was moved to defensive end this past spring.

Williamson played on the third team defensive unit during 2013 spring practice.

Phillip Williamson (linebacker) was graded as a 3 star linebacker with an overall grade of 77... He was offered by UNC and Duke.
