I think NFL CB is the most athletically demanding position in all pro sports.

backpedaling, bailing, weaving, breaking..... you might have a point.

I went with LB. They have to possess the most well rounded athletic talent of any defensive position.

strength wise CB is arguably the weakest position on the field and strength is a pretty big aspect to consider when judging overall athleticism. size too.

who is more athletic? one of those nigerian marathon runners or an mma fighter?

you've got to consider endurance. anyone can run fast. being able to do it backwards and forwards and being able to make breaks and cuts on a dime and do it for 70+ plays a game makes someone pretty athletic. it at the very least puts them on par with every other position.

Its is true that its more rare to find big speedy guys than its is very fast strong guys. Its no coincidence that DE's get taken very high in the draft because of this.

I say S just because vision is a very underrated physical tool. The safety has to be an athlete and still be able to track where all those objects are goin on the field. More than even a LB'er.

Its kind of ridiculous what a corner is asked to do. That and the rules have just gotten worse and worse for them.

I do believe, like rayzor, this statement may be true. Maybe that is why there are so few great corners. There just are not enough truly elite CBs out there to go around.

You could make an argument for Point Guards, but the physicality of the CB position makes it a tougher position.

I voted LB, but you guys may have changed my mind. Damm.

mma fighter. marathon runners excel at 1-2 aspects (endurance, maybe speed) of athleticism and nothing else.

i chose DE because there is heavy use of every aspect of athleticism on every play. the only other two positions i see in competition with DE are LB and RB.

also, vision isn't a form of athleicism imo. it's a talent or game skill.

Sounds like a Friday night at the inlaws. Without those pesky 911 calls.
