Can't stand Joe, but he's right. We need another TE.

I disagree with needing another TE. We're going back to the ground game and we have Brokel for that.

It's University and our swim team isn't bad so don't give Person that much credit.

I disagree with needing another TE. We're going back to the ground game and we have Brokel for that.

We have a franchise QB and a HC who says what we do on offense is basically going to be the same.

How does any of thy equate to going to being a run first team relying on RBs?

Our brand new GM even said he almost drafted a TE over Star

No, everyone has said that the core of the offense will stay the same but they're focusing on getting back to the running game. It's been reported over and over.

Where did I say we were going to be "run first"?  I didn't. But if you want to run the ball keeping a blocking TE like Brokel makes sense. I hope we run a more balanced offense. Olsen isn't a very good blocker, Brokel isn't a very good receiver.

Eifert would have been a value pick. We need more pass catchers, that's where his value is.

Agreed.

It appears that many Huddler's, haven't realized that the team just wants to run the ball more EFFECTIVELY, and/or redistribute the yards (i.e. less for Cam, or less short yardage yards for him), as a preference. As you indicated, this has nothing to do with being a more run focused team, along with the give and take of what a game/defense actually presents you on game day. Folks are just showing their preferences.

Yeah, it's no secret that the Panthers did very well Cam's rookie season with/and having missed two pass catching tight ends (especially with no legitimate 3rd or 4th receiver available). Therefore Brockel being there or not (two post before me, by JOAT), wouldn't make much difference in the big scheme of things. You could even argue, it would hurt the team more than it helps.

Brockel's claim to fame so far, was the annexation of Puerto Rico play, during the very offensive 2011 Panther season (i.e., he really didn't do much).

Brockel does not get the credit he deserves for his blocking. some of the blocks he made on the LBs out the Hback role were incredibly effective.   Focus on him a few series when you have some time.

Are we talking 2011 or 2012?

I'm speaking about the value of the two TE sets in 2011.

Never said Brockel wasn't a good blocking back.
