No doubt. Wouldn't suprise me if we traded Kemba, traded our #4 pick for Bosh, and he left in a year, and Jordan decided to make the new Hornets colors Carolina blue and neon green.

Sadly, I could see that happening :(

Except he's shooting 16.5 ppg and 7 rebounds.  12 ppg in the playoffs.

I thought it was obvious but I'll include the fact that he's a 3rd option on a team with 2 other Hall of Famers, so, yeah, his numbers WILL be down.

Tell me why he is not a max player.

Eric Gordon got a max contract last offseason and he's definitely not as important an asset as Bosh. Bosh still got about 10 good years left to play.

Im not saying he wont get a max contract. He just doesnt deserve it IMO. I wouldnt pay him max money to be a Hornet.

It is what it is. He was the only offensive weapon in toronto and took all yhe shots. He was never a superstar in my eyes. If he could d up true PFs i might agree. He soft

I'll take Monroe or Cousins in 2014.

PG: Kemba

SG: Wiggins / Parker

SF: MKG / Taylor

PF: Monroe / Biz

C : Alex Len

Still, I don't know if we'd be competitive enough to contend for a Championship. Playoffs, sure. Unless, Kemba improves his passing game with the talents around him, we see a vast improvement from MKG, Len is dominant in the paint, and Wiggins or Parker do live up to the hype I just don't know if we're anything more than the Pacers this year.

Greg Monroe more than likely won't see free agencey as the Pistons will work out an extension with him next season.

Cousins is more realistic, but Sacremento has recently retracted any comments making him available.  I personally think we have a better shot of landing Derrick Williams, but I am not too high on him myself.

And with regards to your Pacers comparison.  They are an organization that we should try to model ourselves after.  If you would be disappointed in ONLY reaching game 7 of the conference finals and expect "Championship or Bust" then you greatly need to temper your expectations for the near future as we have a long road to go.

He's definitely soft, but he can also rebound, so that's kind of confusing.  I think he needs to be with a more defensive presence down low.  He'd still be a superstar here since he would take all the shots lol.

    • I wouldn't say he made him look bad, just expendable (and overpaid).
    • Good let them. Will just allow other good players to drop to us in round 2-4

Sent using the amazing CarolinaHuddle mobile app

    • And this is my problem.  Its not that he can or can't run from the shotgun. The problem is that he never has and you just don't know. Will he have the patience to wait beside the QB with the ball in his belly? And during that time the line is blocking and shifting in front of him. There is no definite "hole" to run to. After the QB finally leaves the ball to him, does he have the read-option vision to find that little crease in the line, plant his foot, and cut through it? Jonathan Stewart does, but Stew played in a spread, shotgun offense in college, so he already knew what he was doing. Can Fournette do that well? The answer at this point, since he's never been asked to, is "maybe". Do you spend the #8 overall pick rolling the dice on "maybe"? At a position that in general is the most short-lived in the NFL? Maybe DG and Rivera do exactly that.  If so, I can understand their gamble and would hope for the best. Fournette is a great talent.
