i would have answered that guy's question myself, but i figured if he is dumb enough to ask it, he probably can't register enough brain power to figure something like that out even if explained to him.  he has been asked to do things he hasnt ever done and assumed he can switch and learn a new position on the fly quickly.  i don't expect much from him, but i wouldn't be surprised that if he catches on to playing wr, that he could make an impact.

edwards played wide receiver in high school. he didn't switch to qb until his senior year.

the jump from high to to nfl is big, but playing wide receiver is nothing new to him.

There are Panther fans on this forum that would actually be upset if AE somehow exceeded all expectations and became a 1,000 yard receiver. It blows my mind.

I am all aboard the Armanti Train!  We as a group here on the huddle have eviscerated, neutered, beaten, slandered, demeaned, taken behind the woodshed, disowned and whatever other bad thing you can do to some one via the internet to this poor kid all because some idiot in the front office over drafted him and put him in a position to fail.  Well it looks to me like the kid is ready to prove some people wrong.  And I will be one of the first to say, I'm sorry and I'm glad we have him.  Good luck Armanti!

it is when you dont play it for 5 years, are somewhat undersized and playing against professional defenders.  nfl routes compared to high school, the speed and timing, there is no comparison.

thus the reason why i said the jump from high school to nfl is big...

Well to be fair last season we were getting camp tweets about armanti making spectacular grabs that didn't show up in the preseason. There wasn't this many but, there was quite a few. That said I hope he has turned the corner, I know he hasn't done well but I root for the guy. When he broke that long punt return I went nuts. He's a good kid and hope he gets the best.

but you still asked the question, when you obviously already knew part of the answer

Very few kids really learn how to play WR in high school.  Completely different ballgame than the NFL.

Anyone think its possible we go into the season with two QB's and seven WR's?

I think it is very possible that we only carry two QB's if AE is on the roster....could always be your emergency 3rd QB to get  you through the remainder of one game.

Gettis is the guy on the team that has the speed to take advantage of Cam's arm strength in a Coryell style offense. And he going to get all his snaps with Clausen at the helm. I predict Gettis is going to have an 800+ yard season.....on some other team.

I don't care if its Armanti or Gettis or One-Eyed Dick, as long as someone steps up at WR I'll be happy.

I would be ecstatic if he did this. I happen to think he is too skinny and slow, but that's just my opinion. I would be ecstatic because Hurney got ropadoped by Billy B. and wasted a high round pick on a fuging project. So it would be nice if that project actually contributed something other than a gif of getting run down by a fat New Orleans punter. Or getting caught from way behind on a bomb that should have scored against the Skins. But I will be the first to eat Armanti crow if he produces a 1K yard season, no doubt.

LMAO. Armanti himself said in a recent interview that he hasn't thrown a real pass since the conversion project commenced. I guess if we are down to 3rd string QB we are screwed regardless. At that point throw poo against the wall. Anything is better than that Clausen clown.
