Aruba is my favorite place I have ever been. Absolutely loved it there and teared up when it was time to leave.

Everyone who goes to Aruba seems to absolutely love it (well, except for Natalie Holloway). I really need to plan a trip there one day.

I've been 3 times and love Mexico. I agree that the beaches aren't that great but I just like to go to the resort and lay by the pool and drink the day away.

The trip me and my GF are going on (Playa del Carmen) was only $600 a person for 5 nights and that is all inclusive with nonstop airfare out of Charlotte. It's hard to find the flight alone for that price. Mexico is just so d*mn cheap and they treat you like gold down there.

I usually go to Cozumel once a year with a few buddies...week long dive vacation without the wives.

Stay at Fiesta Americana and dive 15-20 times during the week.

Morning dives....twilight dives....night dives.

Nothing better than diving in the pitch black ocean at night with nothing but a flashlight.....intense

Strange....I was just in the ABC store (That's not strange I know) and was chatting with a girl who was asking me what kind of tequila she should buy and then she said she was leaving for Aruba in the morning. It's a sign....Cary Kollins should honeymoon in Aruba.

We did Dominican in April.

We enjoyed it, but i will reccomend to not stay on the Atlantic side of the island.  The waves were really rough and the beach was under a red flag everyday we were there.  The water was not blue and very Myrtle Beach like.  Next time i'm going to the Caribbean, i'm going to ensure we stay on the carribean side of the islands.

We also went to Sandals Montego Bay and Sandals Grande St. Lucian.  Both very nice.  Montego Bay was my favorite.

What type of things do you want to do?

I would prefer St. John to almost anywhere listed on here so far.

Mexico is good bang for buck.

Dominican is awesome, but 3K may not make it very far.

Mostly gonna be lounging on the beach sipping on a rum drink.  I do like the Mayan ruins idea.  That would be cool to experience.

I've been to Montego Bay before.  We stayed at the Iberostar all-suite resort. It was pretty incredible, but I hear Negril is even better.

I can do the sitting on the beach for maybe a day max. I went to Ireland and it was phenomenal.

To each their own

I'm getting married next June and just starting to look at honeymoon destinations.  I'm thinking we are going for the more "relaxing on the beach" vibe as opposed to an all-out adventure style honeymoon.  Probably looking to spend around $3k.

I'm kind of overwhelmed by all the options and am looking for any advice from those with experience.

Some places I want to look into are Negril, Bermuda, Dominican.  I definitely want to avoid Mexico.  I'm a little paranoid about getting in the middle of a cartel shootout.

Bermuda is better if you have cash to spend. Ask Fiz how it is. Think $8 beers and $400 hotel rooms.

I would avoid it as you will blow through $3k pretty quick.

DR is the polar opposite.

We went sailing in Tortola for ours but you kind of need some others to fill a boat.

I would look at something like Cayman which is more affordable as has great beaches. Maybe Aruba, or most anything with St. in front of it.
