GOOGLE JIM BOB COOTER

so george zimmerman's trial is underway

Recommended Posts

None of us know what happened, however it seems that Martin made 1 really foolish move, and Zimmerman followed up with quite a few foolish moves, 1 resulting in a death.

I will wait for real evidence rather than jump to conclusions that anyone should be put to death or completely ruled innocent.

This is exactly what I meant.

So the defense opened their case today with a knock-knock joke.  Only the finest defense for Mr. Zimmerman.

http://newsfeed.time.com/2013/06/24/trayvon-martin-trial-the-prosecution-opens/

Here are the five key points he made regarding the case, which will determine whether Zimmerman is criminally responsible for the death of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed teenager, on the night of their encounter in a gated community in Sanford on February 26, 2012:

1. “fuging punks, these assholes always get away,” were the first words assistant prosecutor Guy used in his opener, describing what Zimmerman was recorded saying to a police dispatcher just minutes before he fatally shot Martin. Guy went directly to the moments leading up to the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin in February 2012. His intent was to show that Zimmerman had already made up his mind that he should confront Martin rather than waiting for police.

2. Zimmerman’s story doesn’t add up. Guy says that the defendant told police that while he was sitting in his car, Martin ran behind a set of townhouses in the gated community where the shooting took place. But the prosecutor says other records dispute Zimmerman’s statement to the police: “Listen to the non-emergency call that happened in real time and you will see that didn’t happen.”

3. Nobody heard Martin threaten Zimmerman. Guy argues that despite Zimmerman’s statements, witnesses did not hear one of the main claims defense lawyers are hanging their case on: Zimmerman’s assertion that Martin said, “You are going to die tonight.” Matter-of-factly, Guy lays out to jurors: “You are going to hear from people out there. Nobody heard that.”

4. None of the witnesses saw the entire incident.  Guy maintained that people in the vicinity of the shooting heard part of the fight between Zimmerman and Martin — some heard the beginning, some heard the end, but all these amount to nothing more than “slices.”

5. There is no evidence that Martin actually attacked Zimmerman. Despite Zimmerman’s injuries  — he had cuts on his head and a broken, bloodied nose — none of his blood or DNA was on Martin. “He didn’t have bruised knuckles. He didn’t have swollen hands. The only injury to his hand that was capable of being photographed was a small abrasion on his left ring finger. Trayvon Martin was right handed. That was the only injury to his hands.” Guy said.

I've seen some talk surrounding this and some people think it was more strategic than you'd think.

Making the jury or implying that jury is prejudiced so they can eventually appeal

I heard today that the defense will try to get the kids suspensions from school for fighting as character testimony.

Pretty sad really, as if a kid fighting in school justifies that moron tracking him down when told not to.

The Case For And Against George Zimmerman
760.jpg?7441

FOR

  • Typed, signed letter from Martin confirming he attacked Zimmerman
  • Americans have soft spot for nation’s rugged, rawly sexual neighborhood watch volunteers
  • Actions fall within the letter of Florida’s “Get Out Of Your Car, Track Down Your Target, Provoke A Fight, Then Stand Your Ground” law
  • That scary photo of Trayvon Martin flipping off the camera
  • Big, round, happy moonface reminiscent of beloved comedian Jonathan Winters
  • Not convicting him would have a fun “Wow, how the fug did this happen?” kind of craziness to it
  • Only shot unarmed black guy once, as opposed to national average of 21 times
  • Presence of an eloquent and highly persuasive Henry Fonda in the jury box
  • He didn’t do it

AGAINST

  • Murdered a kid
  • Alibi that he was bowling with friends at the time of the crime falls apart under close scrutiny
  • Decency, common sense, basic morality, etc.
  • Best-case scenario: He got into a fight with a 17-year-old and then shot and killed him
  • His original description of Trayvon Martin as 8 feet tall, 250 pounds, and carrying a semiautomatic is dodgy at best
  • Chilling 911 call features Zimmerman saying, “Hold on a sec, I’m going to kill this black kid real quick”
  • Millions of paranoid, racist assholes leaping to Zimmerman’s support may actually be hurting his public image
  • Always good to make the American legal system seem fair from time to time

lol
