Monta Ellis to Choose Team - Charlotte Among Them

78 posts in this topic

I loved watching Monta back with the Warriors, but he hasnt been the same since that moped injury a few years ago.  He showed last year with the Bucks that he doesnt work next to another PG and he still cant shoot 3s, I just see no reason to even talk to him

I would like to keep Henderson over Ellis, but Ellis wouldn't be a bad player for like 8 million per season. He's become massively underrated the last couple of seasons. Obviously you aren't winning a championship with him as your 1st or 2nd option, but he's a good offensive player, and mySynergy actually has him rated as one of the better defensive players.

Kemba

Ellis

MKG

Zeller

Jefferson

Sessions

Gordon

Taylor

McRoberts

Biyombo

Bring it on.  Love the scoring punch.  Would we win it all?  Probably not, but we sure as heck would be a very good playoff team.

Really?  I think he is solid defending PGs but he looked over-matched every time I saw him defending bigger SGs

You know what, Ellis probably won't come to the Bobcats, but nobody knows for sure. The fast that the Bobcats have already landed a big name FA and another one is considering us, really leads me to believe the tides are turning and players might ACTUALLY want to come be a hornet/bobcat.

Rick Bonnell: Regarding ESPN connecting Bobcats and Monta Ellis: Doesn't seem like anything very serious, from what I hear. Twitter @rick_bonnell

Ellis once said he didn't see how he and Steph Curry could thrive in same backcourt. How would that be different paired with Kemba Walker?

Finally, Charlotte, which already has made a big free-agent signing in acquiring Al Jefferson, is waiting on word from their shooting guard, Gerald Henderson. If they are able to retain Henderson, they'll move on from Ellis. If not, the Bobcats may try to move some players in order to create room to sign Ellis.

Waiting to hear what exactly?  Hendo isn't supposed to be able to be contacted by any other teams until the moratorium period has ended.  What is he supposed to know that our front office doesn't already?  Not sure about this...

    • I'll admit, I've been on the Funchess sucks wagon from pretty much the beginning. Didn't understand the pick, didn't like the pick, and have seen very little since then to change my mind. Still hoping he'll wake up, but honestly don't expect it. With KB, I liked the pick. Pretty much gave him a pass for last season coming off the ACL, but if this dude shows up out of shape to camp again... hot damn. He still has plenty of time to show up to camp in excellent shape, but he definitely needs to start doing a better job of taking care of himself year round. The older he gets, the harder he'll find it becomes to work those off-season pounds off.
