There are two distinct classifications of pie.

Traditional Pie and Novelty Pie

Apple Pie, Cherry Pie, Pecan Pie, Pumpkin Pie = Traditional Pie

All type of disgusting pudding pies, oreo pie, poo you find lying around pie = Novelty Pie (much less in worth)

Problem = Solved

I think it's a little rash to lump all pudding pies into the novelty pie category. Banana cream pie is as traditional as it gets.

There needs to be a third category for completeness sake.  Savory pies.  Shepherd's, pot, mincemeat, etc.  They may not follow the intent of piedom, but they are there.  The white elephants in the room.  Or pieshell.

Traditional pies are clearly superior to all other pies.

Other "pie" desserts are fine but they should be called something else.

Also Rhubarb has no business near any pie of mine, one way or the other.
