They'll grow just like homosexuals doing... keep saying there strength in numbers... man its funny how much suspect ish is on here ... Literally butt hurt... I love everyone just hate the perversion and letting it marinate like everythings cool not just homosexuality

No better example of my slippery slope-mentally slow point than this right here.

Rome called! Said please contact them ASAP

Rome was at its thriving peak when they were accepting of homosexuality. Most of its emperors as it grew into its greatness were gay or bi. It didn't collapse until christianity took hold and the catholic church took control. Most of what you've heard about Rome falling apart because of hedonism is what the catholic church kept yelling as they piece by piece collapsed the empire that gays built.

You can still see this effect today, as gay people and their kids tend to make more money, be better educated, and more successful in life.

Your ability to coherently formulate a thought matches that of a cup of mashed potatoes.

So what, pray tell, do you exactly think the movement for equal legal protection and benefits for same sex unions, is exactly?

Gays and Lesbians in this country are protected to the full extent of the law like everyone else. I think the movement is more about social acceptance and awareness than anything else. As far benefits for same sex unions, well that's a different topic altogether.

Yes that and the fact that they were literally poisoning themselves with something in their drinks, causing many people including Emperors to do batshit insane things.

Batshit crazy Romans linky and mental retardation

edit: I love being to say mental retardation without feeling bad. Its a guilty pleasure.

No, same sex partners are not protected to the full extent of the law like everyone else....try again.

As a history major, I just want to inform you that this theory has been widely proven as false, insomuch as being a reason for the decline of the empire. That book, written in 1983, was so full of logical fallacies and outright false information as to be laughable. Not to mention that lead toxicity was a fairly recognized fact in roman society as noted by various roman scholars of the time period such as Pliny the Elder and Vitruvius. Vitruvius, who flourished during Augustus' time, wrote that the Romans knew very well of the dangers.

Water conducted through earthen pipes is more wholesome than that through lead; indeed that conveyed in lead must be injurious, because from it white lead [cerussa, lead carbonate, PbCO3] is obtained, and this is said to be injurious to the human system. This may be verified by observing the workers in lead, who are of a pallid colour; water should therefore on no account be conducted in leaden pipes if we are desirous that it should be wholesome

Ahh yes but history is written by the victors right?

Who would want to be known as a civilization that partly fell due to mental retardation. (bonus points for me, I got to use it twice in the same thread)

I mean, I could honestly show you the figures and facts that destroy the theory if you want to see them. The whole theory is based around the idea that lead was the primary vessel with which the honeys and sweeteners/preservatives were refined in. In fact, his charts assumed that they were the ONLY vessels used, when, in fact, the reality is that they were in the minority - the vast minority. Copper was by far the most used cooking utensil. Then there's also bone analysis, over 90% of all roman bones analysed up to this point have less lead PPM than those of modern day Europeans.

plus there are a few hundred reasons why rome actually fell that are obviously much more significant than lead pipes.
