A spokesperson for the New Orleans highway safety authority (HSA) has confirmed that Drew Brees has broken both of his legs in a traffic altercation. He has been transported via ambulance to a local New Orleans hospital for treatment, and the full extent of his injuries are not known at this time, however, both of his legs were visibly broken and not life threatening according to sources.

The accident involved a 2012 BMW driven by Drew Brees and a 76 year old female driver in a 2010 Audi. The driver of the Audi was issued a citation for failing to stop at a red light before striking the vehicle driven by Drew Brees at a high rate of speed.

Team spokespersons could not be reached for comment at this time.

Additional details and information will be updated as it becomes available. This story is still developing

Excellent post there Alice.  Way to break some news.

I for one hope Brees is healthy, happy and ready to play.  I don't want any excuses when we whip your ass this season.

Not exactly, so we lost a playoff game 11 months after winning a Super Bowl, oh boo hoo, we didn't win two in a row. I don't know one Saints fan that cares about this game, we had all our RBs injured and had basically no chance of winning another SB, so who cares when we got eliminated.

Good try though, not! Now mention the SF game where defense couldn't hold on for less than a minute and you got something.

"we don't care that, as defending world champs, we lost to the first sub-.500 playoff team"
That's because saints fans are as delusional as cowboys fans
