Boston Celtics @celtics 16m

The @Celtics have hired Brad Stevens as their next head coach. Press Release: http://on.nba.com/12ecykU

BOSTON – The Boston Celtics announced today that they have come to an agreement with Brad Stevens to be the 17th head coach of the team. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not announced.

Stevens, age 36, has served for the past six years as the head coach of Butler University, never winning fewer than 22 games and leading the Bulldogs to two national championship games against Duke and Connecticut. He was the youngest coach to reach the Final Four since Bob Knight in 1973.

He's a very good coach, I hope he's not in over his head though... The Celtics could easily be worse than us.

If the Celtics decided to make him their next Head Coach they must believe his college coaching success can translate to the NBA

He is an excellent coach thus far in his career

That's a "GREAT" move for the Celtics. Brad Stevens is an incredible coach who has transformed that Butler program into something highly respectable.

You must not watch CBB. He took that Butler program to two consecutive national championship games.

Maybe he can replace Roy Williams when the Celtics fire him in 2-3 years.

Got tired of waiting on Duke/UNC I assume.  Great coach, interesting hire, time will tell.

Interesting hire.  Seems weird that he would want to come into a rebuilding situation like that, either the Celtics offered him a bunch of money or promised him job security for a few years

I think he is a great coach though, and he will have his choice of big time college programs if he doesnt adjust well the the NBA

Don't be surprised when the Celtics finish with the 9th worst record and land the #1 pick in the lottery and take Wiggins.

He fits college hoops. He may do great and maybe he does this for the exp and then comes back to a blueblood school.
