BOSTON – The Boston Celtics announced today that they have come to an agreement with Brad Stevens to be the 17th head coach of the team. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not announced.

Stevens, age 36, has served for the past six years as the head coach of Butler University, never winning fewer than 22 games and leading the Bulldogs to two national championship games against Duke and Connecticut. He was the youngest coach to reach the Final Four since Bob Knight in 1973.

He's a very good coach, I hope he's not in over his head though... The Celtics could easily be worse than us.

That's a "GREAT" move for the Celtics. Brad Stevens is an incredible coach who has transformed that Butler program into something highly respectable.

Maybe he can replace Roy Williams when the Celtics fire him in 2-3 years.

Got tired of waiting on Duke/UNC I assume.  Great coach, interesting hire, time will tell.

    • I think he has another two years of decent to slightly above average play left. He does benefit from our dline but is a solid if not more type player. If he was 23, I'd definitely expect him to explode but it's just clicking for him at 30(?) after 6 years in so like I said a couple years left of similar play as last year at very best but not much else I see.
    • What I noticed is how important Star and KK have been with giving Addison opportunities. Don't get me wrong; Addison is still a beast. But you'd see a lot of KK and Star helping Addison get those lanes to the QB. But what was shocking was how fast and good he was later on in the season. He really started getting it, and I think it's just the beginning. I would be surprised if he doesn't get double digit sacks this year.
