This was my only problem with him saying it.. The media will never drop it. Ever. Someone will bring this up every falcon game at least. fuging annoying.

But in regard to general Cam-bashing.. I love it. It doesn't seem to bother Cam too much, so fug it. The more they say the stupider they'll look when Cam starts winning.

Aaron Rodgers could admit to raping small children and they'd shrug it off.

I swear I think he was just saying it to be nice and get past that trap question, unfortunately he fell in the trap. There is no way he sits in front of the TV rooting for the Falcons. I can't even see how thats remotely possible.

I honestly don't get what people have against Cam. He is a great kid with a very nice and friendly personality. He stays out of trouble. It's just ridiculous. Get bringing him up when there is no need to. I can't wait for Cam to just completely go off and make all these nobodies shut their fuging mouths.

If Cam did get in off-field trouble ESPN, Nfl network, nfl.com and the likes would simultaneously orgasm so hard it would be visible from the moon.

Cant disagree, but the only thing I'll say is that he does some things unintentionally and many times innocently that just incite a shitstorm of media bullshit. He needs to learn to stop doing these things.

I know that he was being honest, but couldn't he see the headlines the second he said that? He should, from now on, just not fall into trap questions.

Thats the the thing, Cam NEVER pays attention to any of this stuff. I doubt he even knows they roast him on everything he says. Cam is probably always out handling his business football wise and living his life. I doubt he barely watches tv surfs internet to catch what is said about him nor does he ever think about it. Its the only reason he could constantly speak without worry of how is words will be interrupted.

Couldn't agree more...i have never understood the hatred, other than attributing it to jealousy for his  abundant talent.  I mean the guy is always laughing and smiling and was genuinely a good guy at Auburn.  He goes out of his way to do stuff for community and kids and it's not just a PR thing and it's not new for him.  Sure, he gets upset with himself and overreacts when he fails sometimes, but he is still young and a winner and is learning to deal with failing.  I just don't understand the hatred.  He is not perfect but damn, he is a pretty good guy, genuine and phenomenal talent to watch.  Unless he ever does something that shows he has bad character or a crook like over half of the NFL, I think we are pretty dang lucky to have him on our side.  So far;

-he gets really upset when he loses or fails,

-he's not the greatest post game speaker on the podium

-he said he likes the Falcons...

and on the other hand lets see...;

People grow up loving a team. You can't just get rid of that. I know if I moved to a new city or whatever I could never stop loving the Panthers. It's okay for him to be a fan of the Falcons. He is also a fan of the Panthers because that is who he plays for and he gives everything he's got to beat the hell out of the Falcons and that is all that matters to me. Don't beat a guy up for being honest. He is loyal to the Panthers and has done a lot for this franchise and loves it. That's all that matters.

We all knew the media was going to go ape sh*t over this... Its the offseason and they need to spin anything controversial they can to get ratings and such. Look at the zimmerman trial [dont get political], how many shootings happen in america every fuggin hour, yet they pick this one because its a [not-so] white vs black thing and they know dumb idiots will get sucked into it.

same thing in the sports world, anything that has people gossiping and discussing/arguing = ratings= $$$$$$$$$$$$$

http://profootballta...-a-vikings-fan/

First we had Colin Kaepernick wearing a Dolphins hat. Then we had Cam Newton admitting he still likes the Falcons, when he’s not playing against them.

Now the Cardinals’ website has reminded us that receiver Larry Fitzgerald still thinks of himself as a Vikings fan.

I grew up a Vikings fan and I would be lying to you if I didn’t say I was still a Vikings fan,” Fitzgerald said. “Growing up in Minnesota it’s second nature. I still pull for them when I’m not playing them.

Uh oh... now big fat Warren gonna call out Fitzgerald now, right?

Right?
