Proudiddy 10,699 Report post Posted July 19, 2013 Idk, some of the variations of the buzz city stuff has looked like it has carolina blue in it, but that one doesn't. Could just be the contrast and knowing that MJ opted for the carolina blue in the most recent color scheme for the Cats. Upon further review of that particular ad, it appears that the darker color isn't the same purple we used as the Hornets though. Could be more of a royal blue or indigo shade... Idk, the colors just seem off.
Wolfcop 369 Report post Posted July 19, 2013 We shall see. Maybe those are not the colors that will eventually be used. Either way, GO HORNETS!
CarolinaPanthers8789 4,525 Report post Posted July 19, 2013 Just in case you missed the press release, here it is. http://www.nba.com/2013/news/07/18/board-of-governors-name-change.ap/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpts Also, a huge thank you to the Benson family for making the motion to have it unanimously approved. I hate the Benson's when it comes to football, when it comes to basketball... they're alright.
Proudiddy 10,699 Report post Posted July 19, 2013 I don't think I shared it here, but I actually wrote him an email last year after joining on with John Morgan's movement. I greatly appreciate his efforts in getting the name back where it belongs, as I'm sure he knew and felt it was best for both teams. That being said, F the Saints. CarolinaPanthers8789 4,525 Report post Posted July 19, 2013 A few tidbits of USA Today and NBA.com “We’re thrilled to bring back the Hornets to Charlotte and the Carolinas,” said Bobcats Sports & Entertainment Chairman Michael Jordan. “The passion and enthusiasm around this name change by fans in this market has been unmatched. They overwhelmingly told us what they wanted, we listened and we couldn’t be happier with the Board of Governors’ approval of the name change. With the young team we are developing on the court, the direction of our business and the return of the Hornets name, we are extremely excited about our future. The Buzz is Back!” NBA.com With the approval of the Hornets name, the next steps in the transition to the new name will be developing the team’s NBA brand identity, including color schemes, logos and uniform designs. No timeline has been established for when these elements will be unveiled. NBA.com When NBA Commissioner David Stern first started hearing the requests of Charlotte Bobcats fans that the league give them their old 'Hornets' name back, he admits he didn't take the idea seriously."I sort of laughed at it initially," he said. "You know, it is what it is, get over it." USA Today Sports "It stayed there, bubbling below the surface, and there is something to it," Stern said. "I think that the team is going to receive support from fans who think that this is a step in the direction that the fans have been asking for, and this is an attempt to both satisfy the fans and its accompanied by a kind of very specific market research that allows the Hornets to say, yes, this is what the market is asking for and they're very much serving their market by making this change." USA Today Sports One thing that stood out to me was Stern's dickish comment telling the fans to "get over it"... That kind of shows how much he cares about our franchise. You would think that he would realize that it would be good for business to get Charlotte their name back.

MtnJax 820 Report post Posted July 19, 2013 If you go to the splash page for bobcats.com, they've taken the in question "teal" color out and it is just purple and white for now. i mentioned in another thread that if they wanted to do any changes, that would be the change to do. concentrate more on the purple part of the color scheme with the teal as the accent
