NFL.com Lists Most Important Players For Each Team

It has to be Newton. He single-handedly keeps us in and competitive in every game for the most part. If he goes down, Derek Anderson may perform decently because he is a veteran but Beason (assuming he is back to form) could slide back to the middle in event Luke is injured. Newton also accounts for virtually all of our points scored in one way or another.

I'd say we have a lot more depth at LBer than we do at QB...as I suspect most teams do.

Ditto

Very easy question..

Luke is a gonna be one of the best middle linebackers of this era but to think he is more valuable than Cam is laughable.

If Luke an the defense keep teams between 10 an 17 points this season we still lose a minimum of 9 games with Anderson at the helm...

Not a bad choice, but for the purpose of this thread... Is Luke Kuechly more important to this team then Cam Newton?

Let me put it this way... If you had to pick between Newton and Kuechly, who would you keep?

Keek - he turned the whole defense around last year once he took over the M

in today's league, it's hard to find a player on a team that is more valuable than the QB. Luke is a star and has a great future but Cam is the engine for this franchise.

Yea, this article clearly means something other than what it says it does.  Unless you're the Vikings or the Titans (whose offense runs more through the RB than QB) the most important player for every other team is going to be the QB.

The obvious answer is Cam.

And that isn't meant to be a bad reflection on Kuech.

QB is the most important and critical position in the NFL... period.

well, claussen keeps both of thier gatorades filled at all times. keeps dry towels for cams hands & wiping sweat from defense player eyes. so I think the choice is obvious?

Oh, how they forget. From a perennial 2-14 team before Cam to now a team with high expectation. Might I add, they haven't added a single player of significance on the offensive side since Cam. Now the team is on its way to taking off they're looking for anybody but Cam to give the credit to. This is so laughable and intentionally malicious. And I'm sure if the team starts 0-6 the media will be all over Luke. NOT!

1. Team wasn't a perennial 2-14 team before Cam

2. Olsen is a pretty significant offensive player

    • I was a Marine Brat at Camp Lejeune NC and graduated from CLHS in 1978 and on 28 June 1978 I joined the Navy.  I retired On June 30th 2003 after 25 yrs of Naval Service and have been serving overseas to support our troops ever since. I was in Tikrit when they captured Saddam.  Soldiers from our base were the ones who actually found him.  I have been in places in Iraq called Mosul, Al Asad, and Al Kut,  I have been in Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan.  The living hell hole called FOB Shank were incoming was a daily encounter. You see young soldiers who don't even shave yet.  Some look like they lied to get in.  Men and women from every walk of life.  Putting that uniform on.  So needless to say, I am very attached and proud of every one of them.  Whether they know me or not.  Tears fill my eyes every time we lose one. (Just lost one last week). This video, I saw when it was originally aired, still make me water up.   I challenge anybody to show me a more military dedicated team, in ANY LEAGUE, ANY SPORT, that supports the troops like the Carolina Panthers.  I'll give my hated Yankees a close 2nd. ($10,00 ticket with a military ID) **at old Yankee Stadium. Carolina is a class act, plain and simple. Thanks for posting this again,
