@rick_bonnell just said on @wfnz the Bobcats have standing offer north of $6m/multiple years on the table for Gerald Henderson

I think that is fair. 3yr- 6 mill seems very fair to me.

Oh and thanks for some news lol. It's been dead in here

Good offer that will not hinder a possible Kemba extention

I think it is in the ball park of what his market value is.  He should not be getting anymore than 6.5 per year and I hope it is similar to Jefferson's deal with 2 years and 3rd year player option.

Gerald Henerson won't accept it (IMO).  I still think he plays here next season under the QO and tries to raise his market value.

I think he plays at 4 million (I think that is around the QO, correct me if I am wrong) to try to move his value to the 8-9 mill value.

Basically, he accepts 2 mill less this year to try and make about 6-8 million more in his next contract (4 years 32 mill instead of 4 years and 24 mill as an example)

I still think the only way he gets extended is if another team pays him in an offer sheet and we match it.

Just my opinion though.  I hope we keep him.

I'd like to keep Henderson. He's a good player. But not at the price he wants, because we have to make sure we extend Kemba long-term next off-season. Also, wouldn't mind giving him Muggsy's #1 to wear, even though he prefers #15.

I hope we keep him.  He is an above average SG in the NBA (based on how he finished last season) but it not an all-star caliber guy.  SG is definitely a position we need to look to upgrade in the future.  While Hendo won't get us over the hump, he certainly won't drag us down... the guy gives his all every game.  As much as I like how Jeff Taylor played in the summer league, I have yet to see that in the regular season.

Fair, but doubt he'll commit to it.

The advantage of Gerald Henderson signing his QO is that he is going to be working his butt off to make sure that he makes more money as an unrestricted free agent next off season.  I think he would be stupid to not take 6+ a year right now because his production will most likely not be going up with additions of Zeller and Big Al.

6mil a year is too much, he better accept this offer its not like he is getting a ton of interest anyway. IMO we should have just offered him 3mil a year, nobody else was going to give him 6mil a year.

Henderson is ours, if anyone else is stupid enough to go over 6M let them have him.

Terrible move if that happens. "North of $6m" is way TOO much for Hendo. Just let him play out his Q/O.

with everything this franchise has been through, it's time to make Gerald prove himself.  Let him take the QO, and prove himself this year.  Half a season of good play isn't enough.  Charlotte made him a millionaire.  He is no victim.  Want more money for more years?  Go ahead and earn it.  This team owes him nothing.

Step back and think about this for a sec

Henderson wont be happy with 6 mil a year for multiple years playing basketball?

Gah these fools have it made.

If he plays like he did the last half of the season for the contract, then it's a good offer. If he plays like the first half then it's just meh.
