Per Wojo on Twitter

Charlotte is finalizing a 3 year/ $18 million dollar deal with RFA Gerald Henderson.

@WojYahooNBA: Y! Sources: Charlotte finalizing a three-year, $18M extension with restricted free agent guard Gerald Henderson. http://t.co/o4lrCP3krd

According to Wojo, Henderson will hold a player option in the third year of his contract.

Bonnell is reporting that the deal is done.

@rick_bonnell: Henderson-Bobcats deal done. Confirmed: $3 years, $18 million and Henderson gets an out after two seasons. Story coming.

Somewhat good news. Hendo will be a great 6th man next year but I wouldn't be paying a 6th man 6mil a year.

Huh?  Hendo will be a starter, not a 6th man.  This is good news and not a bad deal at all.  Nice.

I think he's saying he's 6th man caliber type of guy and that should be his role. Of course he will start. Glad we Atleast know what's happening now. Was tired of waiting

It Is good news.. Hendo has shown 6 mil is his worth.. He is a more complete guard than OJ Mayo who is getting 8.

As long as his health holds up it is an affordable deal.

Solid deal for both sides... he can opt out after yr 2. Hopefully we are able to draft a future (Star) SG in next yrs draft and will be able to give him a yr to let him transition in to NBA

You guys really think Hendo or in general the "SG" position wont be the position to address next off season?

Its an okay move for me. I would've rather just play poker face with Hendo and force him to play his Q/O. Anyway, I like what we have on the roster. Something good enough for fans to be excited about, but still in reach of a top 5 pick next year.

I'm happy with the signing because we clearly didn't overpay after hearing all that 8 million per year talk. He plays hard, has developed a decent offensive game, and could be a better player with bigs on the court who can actually score the basketball.

Good... now hopefully we can add some more depth, on top of what has already been our best offseason in franchise history.

Nope, I don't.  If Hendo stays healthy this is.  Second half on a terrible team last year, when he was healthy, averaged almost 19 points a game and then of course his defense.  Very few people were better down the stretch.  Henderson continues to be totally undervalued by some of our fans.
