Why the panic about our O line?.. Have you all forgot that...

41 posts in this topic

status quo on the OL is the key to us being at best a mediocre team.

the initial argument that we have one of the best front sevens on D going against the OL as the reason for the OL's inability to look good is flawed. what if it's because of our OL that the front seven looks good?

and how many average or bad DLs are we going to be facing this year? do we need to just count on that?

man, talking about setting the bar low. it's like fox never left.

meh....

It always seems like whatever you think will be a position of strength ends up being worse than you thought and vice versa. I'm under the impression that everything starts at the line, and right now I'm very concerned.

I would have to agree with KillerKat on this one...

The cause for concern stems from the fact that we have the same starters and did nothing to address the offensive line.

All we did is replace backups and camp fodder...

Still On The Roster: Jordan Gross, Amini Silatolu, Ryan Kalil, Geoff Hangartner, Byron Bell, Bruce Campbell, Garry Williams, Jeff Byers, and Nate Chandler

In: Edmund Kugbila, Brian Folkerts, Hayworth Hicks, Tori Mobley, Justin Wells, Patrick Brown, and Garrett Chisolm

Out: Zack Williams, Mike Pollak, Jeremy Bridges

I think most have forgotten that our gerneral manager loves big hog mollies.

Trust in him.

Luckily we are in a division with weak dlines the best pass rushers in the NFCS (not on our team)

Osi? He has no help and he is old.

Claiborne? Coming off a horrible injury..

The saints don't even have a pass rusher worth mentioning.

I know he hasn't panned out as the 1b to Ndamakung Suh's 1a, but Gerald McCoy I thought had a good year last year didn't he?

He took a fat dump on us week 1.

McCoy last season 30 tackles 1 ff and 5 sacks 16 games played

Our own Dwan Edwards 52 tackles 1 ff and 6 sacks in 14 games.

Also Silatolu held him to 2 tackles in the second game.

He would have been fourth on our team in sacks hardly what I would consider a huge threat.

    • I do think Kpassagnon is an interesting prospect that needs to be in the right situation to thrive. It just so happens that we have one of the best 6'7" defensive ends in the history of the NFL on a reunion tour with us in 2017 and maybe if need be, 2018 if he holds up.   Kpassagnon's attitude and work ethic is strong and tireless. His 3-cone and vert scare me for a defensive end, and that's not something you can teach. Being able to bend and explode off the snap to beat OL is not something that Peppers can show him, but maybe Peppers can show how to use athleticism to his advantage.  I can see him being just another Michael Johnson/Erik Armstead player or I could also see the environment here in Carolina benefiting him and he becomes a Carlos Dunlap kind of lanky DE that causes headaches along our DL. Kpassagnon's spider web looks amazing and awful all at the same time. I'd take him in this draft, but "where" is the big question.
