Getlleman is a cap magician, ready to see what the next move will be.

Who gives a poo about being friends. If you are soft and constantly being abused you will not be on Gettleman's Offensive or Defensive lines. Were going for toughness and thats a good thing

first questionable move by gettleman imo. Gross and Kalil were really really good friends with Hangman. Having continuity and meshing well is arguably the most important aspect of an offensive line.

We all know GH sucks. Great, he's a nice guy. He can still hang out with the boys in the offseason.

For too long this team has emphasized having a bunch of nice guys around whether they can play or not. Glad to see that might be changing.

This must mean we are signing Moore. Whatron isn't even fully healthy.

I really hope so. I would hate to depend on a G coming off an ACL injury to start for us all year.

If cutting him saves us money he could be using that to throw at Moore since he will likely command for than the vet minimum. Smart move if that's the case

you don't make a cut like this (a starter, even if he does suck) without having somebody who you are sure is going to sign. He can't think we can rely on Kug just yet.

I think Brandon Moore is in play right now.

Im not saying he should be a starter, he obviously knew he was already on thin ice after drafting Kugbila. Releasing him completely is what is questionable to me. We all know that depth at oline is our biggest weakness, thats all im saying... Being friends with our best leaders and team captains may sound arbitrary, but I've got to wonder if those guys are thinking the same thing that I am.

The Observer just published an article singing his praises this morning... lol

The truth is he just wasn't cutting it.

Slightly off topic but If we replace hangman with a big upgrade, will that help bell play to a higher level? Maybe gettle found the missing piece to a decent (at least average) o line.

I could see that.  A lifetime backup being a starter isn't exactly what the Panthers needed.

Again and again Gettleman has sent the same message, I suggest you all get it along with the players on this team.

This is a business and then a family. You will get paid, per what you are able to do, if you make to much take a cut or be released.

I get what you are saying but the timing is what bothers me about this...what does that do to the psyche of your offensive line (which has had struggles) when you take away a vet who has been running with the ones throughout camp?

I like the precedence that Gettleman is setting but I just wish he had done this before camp.  If Moore or Wharton is signed they won't even be able to practice (in pads) for two days.  This is just a recipe for early offensive line struggles in the first month of the season.

I think it's too early to judge this decision.  If we use the cap savings to get better help and/or extend people that need to be extended, then that'll be fine.  But if don't use it for anything, I don't get it.   Let's see.  Gettleman has been money so far.
