Panthers Sign Chris Scott and Ricardo Silva, Gaydosh To IR

Best Answer LinvilleGorge, 02 August 2013 - 07:21 PM

I'm not in panic mode yet, but the OL was a huge concern of mine going into this season and we have done absolutely nothing to address it. The fact that we've aggressively addressed our other weak spots already causes me to worry that we aren't planning to make any significant moves along the OL. Bringing Wharton in for a look-see gave me hope, but we'll just have to wait and see. Right now, we have backups starting on the right side and their backups shouldn't be in the NFL. It ain't good. @Panthers: #Panthers have signed G Chris Scott and have claimed S Ricardo Silva off waivers from Detroit Lions. Team waived/injured DT

@PFF: New Panthers safety Ricardo Silva featured on 427 snaps last year for Detroit. 87.8% of plays as a deep safety, struggled w/tackling

@jjones9: Panthers add depth with signings, waive Gaydosh, in blog form http://t.co/Tk8D9IvH0c

Scott was recently with the Bills and was thought to be the eventual successor to Andy Levitre. This might be the player that a fellow huddler spotted at Charlotte-Douglas.

Scott has never started a game in the NFL.

Something he and I have in common, I like him!

Is this the smokescreen people were referring to when Rivera said we were confident in our young guys?

He was only in for a workout and would probably only be a camp body.

Williams is the guy.

poo. I wish we were actually serious about trying to put an OL in front of Cam and our billion dollar RBs.

I love the Vols, but Scott is not a NFL starter.

Settle down guys, we're just waiting until week 2 of the regular season to sign a guy that doesn't suck.

We wouldn't want to miss out on any extra savings or anything.

Too many holes to fill in one offseason. We will have to wait another year before a real fix to the line. Here's to a year of Cam running for his life and running backs getting hit 3 yards behind the LOS.

Jesus, all the players think it's the time to do something.  But what about the GM?  Do they really think Gary Williams is the answer right now?  I mean, come on.
