I do like what I saw from Campbell there... shut out Alexander there and kept his feet moving, squaring to the pocket.

armanti makes a great fuging catch that is all i care about in that play

that along with the terrific ball placement by cam newton.

is that chemistry we see developing between the two?

I don't see it. Bell got a decent push on him and maintained position between him and Cam. Hardy was never within three feet of Cam

The second Bell dipped his left shoulder, he was beaten. Especially against a speedy pass-rusher. Zod's right, that was a sack, or at minimum, a pass disruption.

I guess my main question is, did anyone expect Bell to be able to handle LT duties? I certainly didn't. Factoring in the Kraken makes it look a whole lot worse for him there.

EDIT: I'm also keeping in mind, this is one play out of a whole bunch at practice. Every athlete has one or two of those...

Hardy wasnt going to get there plain and simple. He wasn't close enough to reach Cam and at 240 lbs a hand isn't enough to bring him down anyway. Hardy's momentum was going 1 direction and Cam's was going another.Bell did exactly what he needed to do. Make the DE on the outside rush go past the quarterback who steps up in the pocket. Bell wasn't beaten at all. He did what he was supposed to do push him past the pocket and let the defenders momentum run him out of the play.
More importantly Cam didn't try to run or hold the ball. He felt the pressure stepped up and delivered a pass on the money to Edwards. On that play the offense clearly won.

regardless of the sack edward's made a catch he probably would not have made a few years ago which is the main point.

Bell doesn't play LT so it's kind of moot.

bell has hardy beat...only because there's no real effort from hardy to get to newton.

in a real game, bell lost the moment his left shoulder dipped and he wasn't square. the only reason he was able to push hardy is because hardy wasn't trying. if he was, hardy would have easily turned bell and disrupted the play.

Not a game situation, so it's like trying to judge speed from a heat, where all the athlete has to do is go fast enough to make the final.

I liked seeing Edwards make that catch. I'm hearing that he's looking like a legit WR. He may make the team on actual merit this year.

In a real game cam takes for an easy 10 yard gain. But then again in a real game Hardy probably doesnt end up that far in the backfield.

If you knew that hardy slowed up then so does Cam. He knew Hardy wasn't going to hit him so no need to take off. In a real game Cam steps up and takes off. No sack and a 15 yard gain

I actually think bell pushed him wide enough for cam to step up and deliver an absolute dime. what a beautiful throw.

Great pass, great catch...if he could have got to Cam he would have.
