itt Z od posts redundant link.

if you really want to see the discussion on this video, we kinda had one at

edit: this might be a better place for it, tho.  Basically, my opinion is that Lemon misses the mark because he picks out a lot of really obvious things that are largely evidence of poverty.

his 5 point plan to fix black america:

5) stop sagging

4) stop using the n word

3) pick up trash, respect where you live

2) finish school

1) stop having kids out of wedlock

none of this addresses why family formation behaviors among higher income black individuals is still lower than white counterparts; but to explain that Lemon would have had to look into economic uncertainty and examine some of the research and literature on that and that admittedly is hard.

if unwed teen mother's went down do you think the inconvenience of generational poverty, educational inequality and institutional biases would go down as well?

and that goes across all racial lines as well.

Its racist to believe that minorities are incapable of doing the 5 things he listed.

Pick your pants up, take care of your community, stop dropping N bombs, stay in school and apply yourself and don't have kids while you are a teen.

Which of those points are out of reach of every child regardless of race?

he made a key point that drives me crazy. that getting an education or speaking well is some how "being white". he is so right about that and that line of thinking for a lot of people is self sabotage.

It is a white thing apparently. Come see how many times I'm "complimented" on being well-spoken on any given day.

nobody said his points are out of reach for every child regardless of race.

but they're pretty much not dealing with a lot of the major problems.
