My personal experience was it was like a vacation as my normal days are very busy and involve lots of responsibilities, so a few weeks with zero calls and zero worries was like a vacation. And who are you to judge me and say I needed to go help people, legally we weren't even supposed to be on street as city was shut down and there were shootouts with criminals running around, so sorry I didn't break the law and risk my life doing something I have no training in moron! Also don't forget all our cars were sitting under 4 ft of water except for my Ferrari parked in a covered garage 30 miles away, so aside from it being illegal, I would have had to walk half a day just to reach those areas that police were having huge issues doing rescues with all the criminals shooting. Any more ignorance to spread?
Oh just fug off
As Ive stated my wife was in the city with HSUS rescuing pets less than 3 weeks after the storm, My buddy from Slidel was driving into the city and running shuttle to the airport in BR for folks that didn't get out before the storm.
My friends from the Bywater who rode out the storm with some other friends in Gretna and were back in the city two weeks after the storm working with the sweep crews looking for survivors and my friends from Gentilly were helping feed people.
Another buddy was running errands for the Nat Guard stationed at the hospital on St Claude.
Don't think that I dont know exactly what was and wasn't happening in the city in the weeks and months after the storm.
