Between Jake ripping his pants and Jeff King shitting his pants, there have been some great memories as a Carolina Panthers fan...

Oh and that Super Bowl run.

I. Don't. Care.

Please, Peppers hailing from UNC has nothing to do with why I hate him. Delhomme showed the fans loyalty, Peppers did not.

So people hate on Peppers for wanting to leave a team that was spiraling into obscurity and showed no desire in wanting to win. Brilliant.

it's so selfish of him to not spend his entire life in NC and do what people who care nothing about him want him to do just so they can have an enjoyable 3 hours every Sunday. What a jerk.

Peppers did what he thought was best for him. I'm not bitter about it. I might be if our DEs sucked, but our DEs are the strength of our D.

This guy gets it. Sure, Peppers was good, but he was behind one of the most, if not the most, dominate line in franchise history. He also had a healthy Dan Morgan behind him, along with Steve Smith and Moose.

Peppers then showed who he truly was, and went out like LeBron James from Cleveland. Peppers literally could've had the key to the city, yet he decided to run to a team that hasn't done anything since he got there.

If I were from Cleveland, I'd probably hate LeBron for what he did. I've been a Heat fan since we drafted Wade but even I found that decision crap obnoxious and distasteful.

I'm loving with what's transpiring in Chicago. Peppers got paid to play like an elite DE but he hasn't lived up to expectations. Melton took double teams and pressure off of him last season. I certainly hope Peppers doesn't ask to retire as a Panther cuz I don't think he deserves it. Retire as a Bear... or whoever picks you up after The Bears release you because of that contract.

I wouldn't be bitter towards Peppers if he didn't talk about leaving to the Bucs or Bears long before his contract was up and talked about how under-appreciated he was in Carolina (as a factor for leaving too). Players leave all the time. No biggie, but it was the damn fashion he left that irked me.

Peppers is just a really oddball personalty.  I don't know that you can apply the logic of the average person to him because he's just out there.  His old teammates - and probably his new ones - would likely all tell you that.

Jake is more of a down to earth "everyman" type, and a lot easier for most folks to understand.

I'll give you that. Peppers has always been a wacky oddball.

I don't know if The Huddle was established back then when Peppers made those comments but I doubt they were taken kindly by the fans. After all, more than half The Huddle tore into Cam for still being a Falcon fan. Imagine Cam talking about not wanting to stay in Carolina and playing for an elite team like The Falcons. The backlash would be astronomical.

I wish Jake would go ahead retire a Panther and get his statue done...
