it'd be interesting to see a list of players, assembled by NFL GMs, in order of the player they'd like the most to add to a new team.

cam newton would not be 100

The trolls haven't shown up yet.  When they get here, I'm gonna predict 27 pages before Kurb locks it.

Lol, absurd. Just absurd. Not tweeting them, don't care about their god-awful list, this just screams of ESPN trying to create a controversy to increase views/ratings for this stupid NFL rank idea of theirs.

Funny. Where are some of these other players (including the "young Quarterbacks") going to be ranked, when they, and their team have bad years in 2013?

For that matter. Where are some of these anonymous critics going to be, if/when Cam and the Panthers have a great year??

It's all good though. I just look at it as white noise, dribble anyway.

I need to preface this by saying I love Cam Newton. I bought his jersey the day we drafted him. The expensive one. I flew to Arizona so I could say I went to his first game. My mousepad at work is a photo of his first snap under center at that AZ game. I have since bought another nike jersey, his Cam highlight trainers, and even his gotdamn overpriced $15/pair under armour socks. So I am all-in on Cam Newton. I think he will eventually be one of the best in the NFL, maybe ever. There is not another player I would want in his place. Not Brady, not Rodgers, not Brees, not Andrew Luck, and certainly not Robert fuging Griffin. Cam is my guy. He's our guy.

I say all that because I feel like we need to stop using his first two seasons as some sort of justification to his greatness. Yes, he broke yardage records. But it's more because it is a passing league now. His records will be broken within a couple years by someone. He has a career ~85 passer rating and a completion percentage under 58. His touchdown numbers are also somewhat inflated due to the number of goal line TD's he's jumped into.

Cam is an incredible playmaker and talent. But until he stops sailing balls on guys and missing open checkdowns, he won't be the best of the best. I absolutely believe he wants to be the best ever, and so I believe he will remedy these problems and progress to be the best ever.

I don't agree with him being at 100, but we need to start being a little bit more realistic about where Cam is at currently, not where he has the potential to be, and where I know he will end up.

Gosh rankings are fun... I've learned to save myself the trouble and ignore these totally subjective rankings.

You can't just gloss over the fact that Cam is arguably the best goaline back in the game.  His passing records will and have been broken, but his rushing TD numbers will stand for a long time.
