Offensive tackle Jason Smith might find another gig, but he's out of work in New Orleans.

Saints coach Sean Payton told reporters Wednesday the team has released the embattled bookend who began his star-crossed pro career as the second-overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft.

Not saying he's a star or would even start over here but with our offensive line issues he's got to be worth a look. What say you....

Possibly, Maybe even give byron bell a run for his money? Atleast be a backup until bruce is healthy.

Injuries in St. Louis, never really caught on in NY (I think he was hurt there too), and who knows what happened in NO.

I don't know if he would be worse than Bell....

i'll just leave it at that.

the guy is really bad.

washed out of the rams. washed out of the jets after one year. now washed out of the saints...after not even one full offseason.

cut by two teams in 6 months.

sorry, but he's stand firm in the 'do not want' category.

you think otah was a bust? lol, this guy goes waaaaayyyy beyond that.

stay away, guys. stay away.

Not like we have a lot of options and for the vet min I would snap him up in a heart beat. Can he be worse than byers and Chandler?

So in the 2009 NFL draft, we have

1)  Matt Stafford

2)  Jason Smith (out)

3)  Tyson Jackson

4)  Aaron Curry (bust)

5)  Mark Sanchez (bust)

6)  Andre Smith (bust)

7)  Darius Heyward-Bey (bust)

8)  Eugene Monroe (disappointment)

9)  B. J. Raji

10)  Michael Crabtree (disappointment)

11)  Aaron Maybin (out)

12)  Knowshown Moreno (disappointment)

I know a lot of people on this board think that selecting in the top of the first round is easy, but there are a lot of busts and disappointments in that list...
