What can be done about o-line?

OLine is a major issue, but the other major issue is the play calling.  I'm very concerned about Shula's play calling so far...too predictable.

What exactly didn't you like about the playcalling?

Dude, it's the preseason.  We've always kept things very vanilla in the preseason under Rivera and never really shown our hand.

I'm starting to get the Ron Rivera coaching progression

Vet gets cut: "we wanna see what the young guys can do"

Young guys play like poo in preseason: "hey it's only preseason"

Young guys continue to play like poo way into the regular season: "it's a process..."

Of course we keep it vanilla, but that doesn't mean we run a HB dive for every running play...including the plays for Barner.  We were much more productive on offense the previous 2 years.

2nd and 1 halfback dive...no gain

3rd and 1 halfback dive....loss of 2

We'll see what happens in the regular season.

You play to your strengths.  Run some bootlegs.

Grab a OL from FA, bring in an extra tight-end - more 2 TE formations, getting Jon and Tolbert back? Idk but this will be painful to watch all year. Our defense ballin

I believe the shockey olsen combo contributed to a lot of cams rookie success. Another te would be a big payoff.

Cam will lead the team again in rushing. With our line, it's going to suck for our RB's. All that money invested, and we don't even have the personnel to use them right.

    • I was a Marine Brat at Camp Lejeune NC and graduated from CLHS in 1978 and on 28 June 1978 I joined the Navy.  I retired On June 30th 2003 after 25 yrs of Naval Service and have been serving overseas to support our troops ever since. I was in Tikrit when they captured Saddam.  Soldiers from our base were the ones who actually found him.  I have been in places in Iraq called Mosul, Al Asad, and Al Kut,  I have been in Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan.  The living hell hole called FOB Shank were incoming was a daily encounter. You see young soldiers who don't even shave yet.  Some look like they lied to get in.  Men and women from every walk of life.  Putting that uniform on.  So needless to say, I am very attached and proud of every one of them.  Whether they know me or not.  Tears fill my eyes every time we lose one. (Just lost one last week). This video, I saw when it was originally aired, still make me water up.   I challenge anybody to show me a more military dedicated team, in ANY LEAGUE, ANY SPORT, that supports the troops like the Carolina Panthers.  I'll give my hated Yankees a close 2nd. ($10,00 ticket with a military ID) **at old Yankee Stadium. Carolina is a class act, plain and simple. Thanks for posting this again,
