I'm trying to figure out what happened.  It's like a light went off in the middle of the second Baltimore drive.  One minute it looks like Baltimore is going to run up and down the field with ease... then our DT's started dominating.  Kuechly started dominating.  It's so strange....

Ginns kick return rallied the troops plan and simple. Let them know this isn't last year.

How is this surprising? The defense simply adjusted to what The Ravens were throwing at them. An offensive line usually holds the advantage over a defensive line at the start of games. A talented defensive line eventually wears down any great offensive line however.

I thought rookie  DT's didn't impact right away....it takes time...they have to acclimate themselves...get their bearings...adjust to the speed.....pay their dues....

fug all that poo, Star and KK gonna make a thing go right.

WELLLLLLLL lets not get too ahead of ourselves.  Lets hope though.

-coming from a fan who has focused on STAR almost every defensive snap of the pre-season.

Never underestimate the power of an impact play from one unit lighting fire under the ass of another unit.

Ginn took that punt back and suddenly our D was completely on fire.  They stayed that way until the backups started coming in late in the game.

Last nights D-Line play reminded me of the days of Peppers, Rucker, Buckner, and Jenkins.  When Fox first came to the Panthers, they had a dominating D-Line, a great front 7 defense, and very good special teams.  The defense & special teams kept the Panthers in games.  I have a feeling that this year, the Panthers will need the defense & special teams to keep them in games.  If they are winning, who cares how they win?

With a great defense you always have a chance to win a game. Not so much with a great offense. A dominent D can create short fields for a crappy O.

One thing you can take to the bank in preseason is one on one matchup and Star was eating it up.  Dude is fo realz.

I saw him hold the point of attak against a double team.

Bull rush a dude 10 feet into the backfield and tackle the running back.

Get off his block and sack the QB.

Shed his block and pressure the QB.

Blow by his man with an inside speed rush.

And he did many of these things numerous times.

This defense is the start of something really special with Luke, Star, and our d-line.  Hell, our whole front seven.

The only thing I worry about and I'm not sure it's really a worry is resigning Hardy.  We're already got Johnson who is very good and under contract for a few more years.  Kracken may want a LOT of money that we don't have.  We should not break the bank on him.  We also already have some very good and emerging talent at defensive end such as Alexander.  That dude will be a starter.  Addison has also looked good.

The biggest question is weither I get a Luke or Star jersey!

Star is going to help Luke shine this year!! He will keep the blockers off him like he did last night..Luke will be able to run free. I can't wait to see these guys play together for YEARS!!!
