Barner over Williams

Recommended Posts

Read option or not....NFL teams don't use FBs pave the way anymore.

and the read option only runs slow with Williams....the RB who wants his run to go off the tackle rather than in between

The read option runs slow with Chud forcing Cam to hold hands with Williams/Stewart

DeAngelo Williams, four carries....enough said. Barner......hurt.......enough said.

Williams been blown up all preseason...you jus third your team to much running him.

Was a common theme last year

Yes, my completely level headed and reasonable post backed up by numbers was quite emotional.

actually .. if you compare numbers .. you would be hurting your argument ..

Barner has no numbers ..

either way .. DWill is going to be the starter

also, there's no "Jake Syndrome" .. which is an easy argument for the DWill naysayers to keep falling back on .. DWill is currently a better option than Barner in ANY situation regardless of fandom or emotion ..

again .. we've seen Barner partially in 3 preseason games against mostly players that will not make it in the NFL .. DWill has proven over and over he can get it done against the best

although I understand what you're saying .. I completely disagree .. at least let Barner play in 1 game that counts before he is named starter

I hope eventually he proves that in certain situations he is better than DWill .. that will mean our team overall will be better

No one complained when Stewart was healthy in 2011....

it runs different with Wiliams. He isn't what you want if you run that consistantly.

Stewart is released for steady yards. He takes I north and south and goes forward.

Some people on here are either sucking up to Zod/Mods for reputation or are just too afraid to give a common sense opinion bc they're too scare of being banned.

I wish any of that were true.

Mostly people giving common sense opinions

I think the title to this thread should be "I am frustrated about our offenses performance, mainly the oline, and am overreacting by making DeAngelo Williams the scapegoat."

Williams was middle of the road most of last year....he needs nice holes or he is wildly inconstant.

A lot if it is just bad OL play....but he isn't the RB he was a half decade ago

Take away the Saints game last year and Dwill had a 3.46 yards per carry and 500 yards.

He's good 1 out of every 16 games.

He's not the sole problem...but he is part of the problem

That statement is a bit silly.

Williams isn't being called out for anything (in fact the things said about him are praise for RBs regarding his patience and willingness to wait for something to develop before he hits a hole).  The OL is being called out for being shitty and the question of whether a different back would have more success behind that terrible OL was raised.  Agreeing with that (or not, as is the case amongst quite a few people) is just fine and should be expected as opinions differ from person to person.

Saying that the idea attempts to make DWill the scapegoat is just wildly inaccurate.

Not ready to buy that Barner is gonna be better.

The OL issues need fixing. If that doesn't happen, it doesn't matter who's back there.

In all fairness Stewart averaged 3.6 last year. I didn't take out any good games or long runs he had either.
