Also, Leonard Cohen comes to mind. But he also wrote what is still one of the most beautiful songs of all time.

Joe Cocker is f*cking amazing, what are you posting him in this bad singer thing for!?

What wouldja do if I sang outta tune?

He's a great example. I'm looking for unconventional "bad" singing that sounds great and or funny.

Joe Cocker has one of the greatest voices of all time. I don't even see how it's that unconventional, it's just raspy. The dude is a top 5-10 all time soulful singer too, puts so much emotion into it.

Well, that's nice but it's what I'm looking for and the reason I started the thread.

henry rollins can't sing the alphabet but it works for the bands he's been in.  same for dave mustaine but that's more about the tone of his voice being awful.

Then you should've worded it better than "bad singers".

Tiny Tim. He was a novelty act who was paradoxically HUGE in the 60s and 70s, and intentionally sung horribly for humorous effect.

You shut your damn mouth!  Kidding, he kind of does fit that description, but Vedder and Pearl Jam are still awesome....
