Not to be picky but I don't believe that would constitute irony.
I believe it would indicate more of a coincidence.

Perhaps dramatic irony is more appropriate. The main character, Kug, has been desperately trying to fight back from injury to get on the field. Wharton enters the picture and Kug is stuck with the jersey number of a guy that desperately tried to stay away from the field. Thus causing people like me to get a cheap laugh at the expense of an unknowing participant.

Meh, I also say "supposably" sometimes.

Kugbila is the guy who didn't participate in mini-camp because of "general soreness" in his leg. I'm sorry, but he must have bitched and moaned for them to sideline him for that. Funny how Gross hasn't brought up Kugbila ONCE in his podcast, while he has talked about the other offensive lineman.

Steve Smith wouldn't dare miss practice because of "general soreness", Gross or Kalil wouldn't either.

But Kugbila isn't a player yet. He has to actually, you know, play before you can say player hate fest. He is still just a draft pick at this point.

Maybe Kugbila's friends and family will buy the authentic Otah jersey hanging in my closet. Been trying to give that thing away for 3 years now.

you could just use black duck tape and white paint and put Kugbila on the back. Im sure he will be on the bench for at least two years. ;)

I don't get the hate for Kugbila. Hamstrings are not magically fixed by sheer will.
