Rivera says Travelle will play Left Guard

I see us running a lot of 2 TE sets the first couple of weeks, with Hartstock (and maybe Tolbert in the backfield) on the right side ... not the end of the world.

If your G gets blown up...he gets blown up. Especially if playing under C..

Is there no way to scheme around the problem?  Surely Cam has the ability to roll out and also do that nifty 270 degree spin to elude penetration.  Why not capitalize on that and toss in more quick, short passes too?  Brady and the Mannings have sliced up defenses in small positive chunks of yardage doing that for years.

Cam should just lineup shotgun and throw a screen on the right side every play of the game.

Can only roll him out so many times...the rollout is effective bc it is rarely done. How many times a game do you recall them doing it

Left side should be fine, but the Seahawks are gonna take advantage of our insanely weak right side

You can try to help a bad OL...but a bad OL is a bad OL.

Has Amini played at RG at all, ever, even during preseason?

Nope

That pretty much confirms they really had no intention of signing Wharton, or they would have at least taken a few snaps to see how Amini looked at RG.

Not just roll outs, but screens, dumps, whatever, put an extra guy on the R side line and/or in the backfield, and so on.  I know none of this SOLVES the problem, but in every game, the opposition has a strength to be addressed, and in our case, many times that will be a defensive front that can fairly easily penetrate our right side.  Do coaches not attempt to develop schemes to reduce the effect of these issues?  If not, I guess I can save blowing a grand on two or three games worth of club seats and we can speculate instead on what we are going to do with Clowney.  Just saying...are we really screwed before the season even gets into full swing (again)?
