They mentioned on the panthers site that Wharton has practiced at both guard spots.

Expected that.

If Amini gets healthy, Wharton moves right.

I'm re-watching the Ravens game right now and Gary Williams does not look that bad. He's staying on his blocks...Bell and Amini are having trouble.

I believe PFF backs this up too with the exception of when he whiffed at LG. Garry doesn't worry me, Amini and Bell totally do. Hell even Chris Scott has yet to worry me. Neither one of these guys are getting credit because almost no one rematches the line nor do they notice the line until they make a mistake. I would really be interested in seeing Gross / Wharton / Kalil / Scott / Williams

I know I'm late but I want to play too.

Amini was having a bad preseason. There is no way around that. Wharton will solidify that left side. Williams was having a decent preseason. Better than most folks are saying. Bell can handle most, but has trouble with speed guys. You can help him with chips and RBs, so that does not concern me.

IMO, we aren't as bad as most folks make it out to be. Especially with Wharton back. It ain't the best line around, but it is better than most are predicting.

As for the Gettlemne debate. I am quite sure Accorsi and JR talked to him before the hire. Gettlemen knew Rivera was going to be the Coach. If he wasn't going to do everything in his power to make Rivera a success, why did he take the job?

Gettlemen is all in. He has to be. He would lose all credibility if he weren't. I mean, really. Why would he take the job if he was going to half-azz it? Who would trust him? What Coach would come here if he couldn't trust him? No one would want to deal with him if he was thought of as a GM who half-azzed it?

If we continue the success from the end of last year and make the playoffs. Rivera is going to be our Coach next year. And I can live with that. I sure hope the Rivera haterz, and Gettlemen, can live with it.

Is history repeating the Shula past with tampa bay through the panthers?

Strong defensive head coach

great defensive team

Shula as OC

make playoffs but no further.

Fire HC and hire Gruden

get rid of Shula

win super bowl

F**k anything Person reports. He's nothing but a troll...

Someone on Twitter asked Joe Person to clarify that comment.  He said Rivera had stated that he was happy with the linemen we have.

That's still not really full context, but if that's what he actually said, it's a pretty big stretch to go from that to "no more linemen".

The most you can rightly get out of that is that we aren't signing anyone else "right now".  Says nothing about plans final cuts.

Rivera is like Baghdad Bob.

Gettlemen is like, you get nothing more. Deal with it.

Rivera then has to go in front of the media and spin confidence. "We will crush opponents with our deceptive Hog Mollies. We have no worries. We will destroy them"

I'd like a quote, not this guy's opinion. I saw him answering questions live on a blog and everything he wrote out seemed so general. Definitely not a knowledgeable source. Even Gettlemagic said on Panther Talk this past Monday that the O-line is his biggest concern right now.
