Mr. Stevonne Latrall Smith goes off for a career high 1,600 yards to move to 15th all time.

God, I hope. Not only for Smith and the Panthers, but because he's on my fantasy team.

8 or 9 wins, we struggle early like always(i know thats a cop out but it's in our dna now for the past 5 seasons) and have close and ugly games to start out the season.  The defense is steady throughout and offense finally gets their poo together too little, too late.  Again, so hard to argue history when it has become the norm.  I'ma go on a limb and say Buccs win division, Falcons miss playoffs but finish 2nd with 10 wins and we finish about the same as the Stains.

if we struggle early then we will probably end up with 3 or 4 wins total. our last half of the season is ridiculously hard.

Beat Seattle, then stumble in one of our next three games to open the season 3-1.  People are happy, we have our first winning record of the RR era.

In the next four games, win one we don't expect to and lose one we felt we should have won.  Go 2-2, and the team has shown flashes of being very good but inconsistent.

In our next four games, reality smacks us in the face.  Go 1-3.  Mood sours as far as RR is concerned.  Head into December with a 6-6 record.

So now there are two ways this all unfolds.

Spoiler

Spoiler

 - I think that by the end of the year, Smitty will be in the slot most of the time, with Gettis and LaFell outside.

 - Edwards contributes well enough to earn another contract (although a small one).

 - The Offensive Line will be ok in protection, but that's mainly because of Cam's ability to move around.

 - The running game is unimaginative and ineffective.  The offense can't score when it counts.

 - One of our Cornerbacks (not named Munnerlyn) looks like a legitimate NFL starter.  The entire secondary looks fairly serviceable

 - Hardy has more sacks than Johnson

The Panthers go 9-7 and claim a wildcard spot in the playoffs.

We finish second in the division behind Atlanta, as they go 10-6.  Split series.

We surprise and win our wildcard round game, but lose in the game following due to our subpar o-line.

Luke is a DPOY candidate. Cam has a fine year and is able to make the media eat crow.

Ginn has a great season for the special teams, but just an ok year as a wide receiver, where as both Gettis and Armanti contribute nicely.

Stewart is placed on IR, but our stable of backs does just fine without him, with Williams leading the way.

We do just enough as a team for Rivera to keep his job and for our fans to not kill themselves.

And most importantly, we will see a repeat of 2006.

The role of Foster will be played by DWill and the role of DWill will be played by Barner

One RB will run into tackles and nowhere and everyone will be asking why the young kid gaining yards isn't getting more touches

We go 11-5, head to the Superbowl.

Barner ends up to be our No. 2 RB. Behind Stewy.

Smith, Olsen, LaFell, Gettis, DA, Tolbert will be the order for receiving yards.

I will cry in happieness when the clock winds down in the 4th quater on Feb. 2nd 2014.

100k+ fans will welcome the SB champs in the streets of Charlotte on Feb. 3rd 2014.

What he said. Except 10-6

8-8.

My predictions:

-Schedule is tough and the Panthers are again on the losing side of close games.  Cam again struggles with the game on the line.  Supporting cast around him is questioned.

-Ted Ginn emerges as a reliable WR and takes the #2 role from LaFell by the end of the year.  Potential to be #1 if he improves his hands.

-O-Line is a weakness all year and injuries rack up.  By the end of the year they are starting guys off the street.

-Greg Olsen leads the team in receiving yards and TDs as Steve Smith misses time with injury.  By the end of the year, Olsen is lining up as a WR.

-Secondary can't cover man-man and gets beat deep.  Carolina leads the league in passes allowed over 40 yards.  Josh Norman leads the team in INT's but also in passing yards allowed.

-Luke Kuechly cements himself as the best MLB in the game and is in the running for DPOY.

-Greg Hardy signs a big contract extension, but fails to live up to it, getting benched for a lack of effort by the end of the year.  Charles Johnson however, has another big year and continues to prove he was worth the big contract.

-Mike Tolbert is the starting running back by the end of the year.  Jonathan Stewart ends up on IR and doens't play a down in 2013.  Deangelo Williams shows flashes of his former self early in the year, but slows down by years end.  Barner looks good in limited action but has problems with fumbling.

And finally...after deliberating for weeks after the season and another year watching the playoffs from home, the coaching staff is fired.  The team starts out strong but finishes poorly, in contrast to previous years.  Carolina looks like a playoff team early but folds when the pressure mounts.  Rivera's trademark.

I've said 10-6 after watching the 1st pre-season game and I'm gonna stick to that or 9-7 worst case scenario. Our defense will keep all games close and may singlehandedly win at least 5 games for us.

If our offense can put up 20/game, we are a 12 win team, but I don't see that happening.

Keek wins DPOY.

My prediction (feel free to bump this when it happens)

We absolutely embarrass Atlanta the first meeting. It's bad, real bad. Our defensive line disrupts Matt Ryan so much he throws a few picks and is sacked a bunch. We also win the second meeting as well, but not in the same fashion.

Mike Tolbert has a great year and will be utilized like a great fullback should be. Awesome fantasy pickup btw.

Cam newton and the offense play just fine. Not number one in the NFL by any means, but slightly better than last year.
