Cyrus K has looked bad the first half. He's been slow off the snap, has had trouble dealing with guys going inside on him, and trouble mirroring pass rushers with his foot speed. He just doesn't look comfortable at LT.

The chemistry with that line will need work. He is playing next to his brother at LG and while arie is just a big he isn't as good as Cyrus. It took arie all four years to start. He probably doesn't feel safe on the inside because he knows his brother will get beat

Malcolm Mitchell out for the year with torn ACL.

Georgia junior WR Malcolm Mitchell suffered a torn ACL against Clemson, ending his season.

This is a massive loss for the Bulldogs, as Mitchell reportedly had the best summer camp of any offensive player on the roster and was poised for a big season. The former cornerback does his best work in space, making people miss with quick moves and explosive cuts. He was just learning the details of the position. Mitchell was reportedly hurt when celebrating the team's first touchdown. He might apply for a medical redshirt and return in 2014 with two seasons of eligibility.

I'd like to mention Cam Irvin, OT, Florida State.

i have been really impressed with him tonight so far (Erving). he looks really good, and so does Winston, Greene and Benjamin.

Greene, the FSU receiver, is pretty under the radar. Christian Jones is probably FSU's best prospect, followed by Irving and Tim Jernigan, a DT. Stork, a C, is listed on some sites as the best prospect at his position but that could always change in the coming months. I wish Lamarcus Joyner were taller.

i like Greene's game a lot. he runs nice routes, and has plenty of speed. he is on my radar, acknowledged him in the WR thread.

week 1 standouts

Jake Matthews, OT Texas A&M. As good as advertised. Has made the move from RT to LT with ease. Great footwork in pass protection (kick sliding) and moves really well in run blocking. He easily reached the DE on several blocks and got to the 2nd level to the LB, and it looked great. I think he is better then Joeckel already.

Sammy Watkins, WR Clemson. Back to form from 2011. He showcased that vertical, break-away speed with the shiftyness to make guys miss in the open field. He also caught the ball very well with his hands, and caught a ball at its high point with a DB on him. I think he did muff a punt, but still he looked really good this week. Had a 6 catch, 127 yards, 2 TDs night vs Georgia.

Rashad Greene, WR FSU. A Desean Jackson clone. Around the same size, with the same speed, but will attack the ball in the air better then DJac. Gets vertical and smooth route runner with enough wiggle to make guys miss. Will also run by you if you do not respect his speed. youtube video of him jumping onto a box like JJ Watt. Stat line of 8 catches, 126 yards and a TD.Also look out for the other WR starting for FSU Kelvin Benjamin who is a redsoph but is 6'5 234. had a decent 5 catch, 73 yard night.

Teddy Bridgewater, QB Louisville. Smooth pocket passer, who can make every thrown on the field. as well as outside of the pocket, had a beautiful TD pass on a naked boot to the left for about 40 yards. hard throw for a right handed QB, but the ball was placed accurately onto the WR. this guy is really good, and humble, and understands the game. went 23-28, 355 yards, and 5 TDs.

Khalil Mack, OLB/DE Buffalo. a hybrid player who can rush the QB, as well as drop into coverage. he looked really well vs the #2 team in the country in Ohio St. lined up at LDE and RDE and OLB and effected the game at each level.when rushing, he has a good first step and can bend around the corner with the best. he also showed his power on plays getting sacks off bull rushes, were the OT was pushed back into the pocket, right into the QB were he disengaged and sacked the QB. stat line of 9.5 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and INT ran back for a TD were he out ran Braxton Miller, a sub-4.4 QB.

Kyle Fuller, CB Va Tech. really looked good and shadowed Amari Cooper the entire night. had good coverage, stayed on the WR hips and in zone made a nice break for an INT.really took out Cooper, and his game.

other mentions who stood out

Mike Evans, WR Texas A&M

Allen Robinson, WR Penn St

Cameron Erving, LT FSU

Vic Beasley, DE Clemson

Todd Gurley, RB Georgia

Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix, S Bama

Deion Belue, CB Bama

Kasen Williams, WR Washington

Vinnie Sunseri, S Bama

Jarvis Landry, WR LSU

La'el Collins, LT LSU

Interested to see how UGA responds to the Clemson game, and how they deal with Clowney.  Last year they tried to chip him with backs, but they didn't have the size to do so.  Gurley and Marshall put on a good bit of muscle during the off season so it should be interesting to see if they're any more effective at it.  Also interested to see Devin Gardner vs Notre Dame and if San Jose State can pull the upset against Stanford behind Senior QB David Fales.  Also on a personal fan level I'm interested to see how USC's banged up secondary performs against Washington State....

Cant wait to see Norte Dame vs. Michigan. A lot of very good prospects: Taylor Lewan, Louis Nix, Stephon Tuitt, and Zack Martin.

i still do not understand how all the NC schools allow Gurley and Marshall to leave the state. but that game interests me a lot, big match up. i think the Stanford vs SJSU game is really a game to watch for the scouting eye. SJSU offense vs Stanford D should be a good watch. Reynolds the FS from Stanford is pretty decent.
