So this pushes Mitchell and his personal fouls to the bench, correct?

I would say his price came down over the last few months also. Gman waited him out?

I like the business way our new GM plays this thing for sure

It sure beats throwing money at a players whim.

"Mikell's contract was due to count $9 million against the cap -- more than double what it was in each of the previous two seasons."

Cap causality in Saint Louis, really surprised we didn't pick him up earlier, but I guess they were going to to roll with the young guys.  Great pickup though, now please bring in a starting vet guard!

He's a vet and much like Iverson he didn't need the practice.

Quite impressed with how things are handled now. Good signing, and I almost expect an oline signing as well at this point. Either way, HELL YEAH!

Awesome, our defense is looking even more nasty than before. Will he be starting week 1? He has a lot to learn, i'm sure his familiarity with Mcdermott back in Philly will make it a lot easier on him.

Dwan Edwards immediately started for us last year, I think, and we signed him around the same time.  I expect that even if he isn't starting, he will get plenty of PT this week.  Plus he is a very experienced safety who has played for the complicated Jim Johnston defenses back in Philly and has played for Jeff Fisher style defenses too.  So I don't think there will be too much he isn't already familiar with.
